Let your tenants manage their own space with Pod Today we are happy to welcome yet another new feature to the KS family. This addition to the SALTO KS and KSConnect API enables building managers (Site admins) to create a small independent group of members named ‘Pod’. With the new Pod functionality building managers get the chance to outsource access control management to their tenants. This feature will help keep an overview of their buildings’ operations and save them a lot of time.
XS4 BLUEnet lock range now compatible with SaltoKS SALTO KS (Keys as a Service) provides flexible, cloud-based, wireless access control that is incredibly easy to install and maintain, and even simpler to use. Even better, SALTO KS is now compatible with SALTO’s XS4 BLUEnet lock range which includes the revolutionary XS4 One and stylish XS4 Mini. Your customers can manage cloud-based access control from anywhere, on-the-go, simply by using the KS app or a web browser. They can send a Mobile Key to anyone with a smartphone, with no need to hand over tags or even do a remote opening (even though you can do that too). Issuing and receiving access has never been easier or more flexible.
Mobile Keys can work offline The Master key or ‘Offline Access option’ allows a user to open the doors to which he or she has permissions defined, even when the IQ is offline or disconnected. If the Site contains RFnet locks within the Site, then the offline access storage is 39 per Site. But if the whole Site is equipped with BLUEnet locks, then Offline keys storage is 360. Salto have future plans to improve this logic per lock, where the storage will be 39 for RFnet locks and 360 for BLUEnet locks within the same Site.

We know that not everyone is thinking about tax time, but the government has announced a very generous extension of two programs to support small and medium businesses. Talk to your accountant now, and make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to offset any profit in your business against these investment write-off programs. We have some fantastic offers available on high quality machinery that will serve your business now, and for years after the bounce-back. There are two programs you should be considering:
1) Instant Asset Write-Off:
Is now increased to $150,000, and expanded to include businesses with annual turnover of $500 million, and this applies up until June 30th, 2020. The higher threshold provides cash flow benefits for businesses that will be able to immediately deduct purchases of eligible assets each costing less than $150,000. The threshold applies on a per asset basis, so eligible businesses can immediately write-off multiple assets. From the 1st of July 2020, the extension will end. It will only be available for assets up to $1,000 and for businesses with turnover less than $10 million – so you need to move quickly to take advantage of this one.
2) Business Investment Incentive:
For asset purchases that don’t qualify for the above IAWO relief (i.e. because it exceeds the $150,000 threshold or was not purchased before June 30th, 2020), the government has introduced an investment incentive through to June 30th, 2021. Businesses will be able to deduct 50% of the cost of an eligible NEW asset on installation, with existing depreciation rules applying to the balance of the asset’s cost. *This isn’t financial advice, talk to your accountant or registered financial practitioner for applicable advice to suit your business and situation.

a message to our customers I thought I’d write and share some thoughts at these unprecedented times. I feel confident that the Security industry in which we work is an essential one. I know our customers are servicing multiple essential industries such as health care providers, critical infrastructure, police, military and government sites, and talking with customers some of these areas are busier than ever. Sadly, that is offset by a drop in many other areas – however that is also providing work for our industry as sites that sometimes open all hours must now close, and improvements in security are required. I’ve seen the resilience and effort put in by our team to ensure service continuity to you, our customers, and I’m very thankful for their efforts. We’ve implemented a wide range of measures to protect our team and our customers. We’re working to continue to deliver the products you need to secure your clients’ properties on time. Our team are working remotely wherever possible, and our investment in technology over the years is allowing us to operate with the very minimum amount of disruption. I’m pleased to see how well customers are adapting to online and electronic order placement, and using the knowledge of our team to organise their orders for pickup or despatch. We’re making detailed contingency plans, and I very much hope we don’t need to use them! We are proud to work with the very best suppliers - and in general terms, this means that while there are some very minor hiccups, there are no serious supply chain interruptions to our business right now. Stocks of goods are available and continue to flow normally.
