Primary Logo The logo of the Marvin Lewis Community Fund is friendly and approachable. The curved shape of the logo suggests the laces of a football. These “laces� also form figures who represent the children the organization assists, and represent members of our community coming together to improve and change lives. The logo demonstrates that there is strength in numbers. The shape of the logo alludes to the fact that the Marvin Lewis Community Fund uses football as part of a program to help and mentor kids and as a way to raise awareness for an important cause. Below are the approved variations of this logo. Consult the Brand Standards manual for additional information.

Cincinnati Public Radio Underwriting Copy Guidelines

How to creating brief, uncluttered messages that meet the needs of sponsors, resonate with listeners and comply with FCC’s non-commercial requirements. Copy should include: 1) Your business or organization’s name or that of the subsidiary, legal DBA, operating division parent company to be read after an opening phrase such as, “Support comes from…”

or

2) Credits can also contain: • Non-promotional, value-neutral descriptions of organizations, products and services. (This includes items like origin of the product, intended use, form of delivery or method of preparation, and product content) • Organization mission language that identifies and does not promote or state an opinion. • Established (verbatim) corporate slogan that complies with all FCC underwriting wording. • Location information (e.g., neighborhood, street address, phone number, web address). • Duration of time in business. 3) Under FCC regulation, credits can NOT contain: • Statements of price information, interest rates, discounts, specific financing information or words like free or complimentary or other inducements to buy sell, rent or lease • Claims of comparison or language that is promotional or self-congratulatory in nature (words like best, fastest, biggest, premiere, legendary, famous or renowned) • Calls to action (“give us a call, visit us at, see our”) • Personal pronouns such as “we” or “our” that give the impression of station endorsement • Descriptive language that is subject to interpretation by the listening audience • Testimonials or ranking information • Expression of a viewpoint on a controversial issue • Support of or opposition to a political candidate. 4) General Policies: • Standard credits are 20 seconds or less. • Final copy must be ready to record at least three days before scheduled start date. • Copy can not place the announcer in the first person. • No pre-recorded copy is accepted; all messages will be recorded by Cincinnati Public Radio’s onair personnel. • Messages must use proper grammar. No sentence fragments or run-on sentences. • Where possible, use one point of contact—address, phone or website. • Ensure that date references in copy coincide with the day they will be broadcast (e.g., tomorrow, this weekend, etc.). • No advocacy, political, ballot, or issue advertising. Final approval of copy lies with Cincinnati Public Radio. Cincinnati Public Radio reserves the right to reject potential underwriting in the event of conflicts of interest, inappropriateness or adverse listener reaction, misperception or confusion or demands for editorial influence. Cincinnati Public Radio reserves the right to refuse to accept underwriting from companies, businesses, organizations, or any other entities deemed to be inconsistent with Cincinnati Public Radio's image, not of general interest to Cincinnati public Radio listeners, or that could be detrimental to the welfare and image of the station.

Public Service Announcements and posting events on the LOCAL 12 Community Calendar LOCAL 12 is proud to serve the Tri-State community, supporting hundreds of non-profit organizations and their good works. These are the guidelines for public service announcements (PSAs) sent to LOCAL12. **PSAs will be screened for quality and subject matter. They should address issues of concern to the TriState or causes that will make life in our area better. **Organizations sending PSAs must be able to provide proof of tax exempt status. **Keep the commercial aspects of an event out of your spot. Provide viewers with a number to call or a web address to check in your spots. **Spots should be in beta sp format. **Check to make sure the who, what, when, where and why are mentioned. **Be sure and include how many spots are on your tape, their length and a deadline for them to stop airing. **PSAs should arrive at the station at least 6 weeks before your event.
