Suppression Lists The unsubscribed email addresses are placed into a "suppression list" which is used to "suppress" future email messages to that email address. There are two types of suppression lists within The Dashboard •
Local Suppression List This the list specific suppression list only valid for the particular mailing list.

Global Suppression List The subscribers added to global suppression list will be excluded from mail deliveries from all the mailing list under the users account.
Local Suppression List The local suppression list can be used to suppress the email addresses from a particular list. The suppression lists are created whenever the hard bounced email addresses are detected or when you manually add certain subscribers to the suppression list. The hard bounced subscribers are automatically added to the suppression list whenever they are detected. You can also configure the unsubscription behaviors which will allow you to add the un-subscribed members to the lists suppression list so that they do not receive any further communication. In case of the manual spam complaints - you can also import subscribers to the suppression list. In order to import subscribers to suppression list manually follow the steps below 1.
Go to Lists >> Select the Mailing List

Click on the Subscriber Actions >> Add Subscribers

You can use any method to import - for this example lets click on the Copy/Paste Method

Copy / Paste the list of subscriber email ids and click on the "Next" after selecting the necessary options

Now match the files and under the Import Options select "Add to list's suppression list"

Click on the "Next" button to import subscribers to local suppression list.
Global Suppression List Global suppression lists are generated automatically based on the hard bounced emails as well received spam complains. When the subscriber is added to a Global suppression list he/she will not receive campaign emails even if they are subscribed to any of the mailing lists with the users account.
