Hello IHM Members

Happy New Year to Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Festive Season and are enjoying 2022 so far. And yes, I know it is still challenging, people are tired, and we are all at our wit’s end over COVID and the restrictions it imposes.

Quite honestly, I am excited about 2022 – WHY you ask? With the proposed lifting of several protocols starting at the end of January and going through until the middle of March, it is encouraging we will be holding our in-person Annual Conference in Niagara Falls at the end of April. Think of it –meeting in person, attending the fantastic sessions we have scheduled for this year, networking with so many others in the industry, seeing our suppliers with new ideas and technology, and maybe, just maybe, hoisting a cold one with friends.

The Conference is scheduled for April 28 and 29th, and we have some great events planned. For those of you who would like to participate in our 3rd Annual IHM Golf Tournament, come a half-day early and join us at Whirlpool Golf Course in Niagara Falls. We always have a few prizes to hand out, but most importantly, we enjoy an afternoon of sunshine (hopefully), some exciting golf (scramble - best ball format), a few refreshments, and loads of laughter.

You can also be assured IHM will take all the necessary precautions and be very aware of safety and having an environment that will follow all the protocols that may be in place at the time of the Conference.

We had an incredible year in 2021, even with all the challenges. More students in one year, granting Accreditation to more members than in any other one-year period, taught two courses via Zoom to a group of employees in Edmonton, had success with our Chat Rooms and Information sessions, revised three of our Core Subjects, have held two virtual AGM’s, and our membership grew. A fascinating year we had.

I sincerely thank our incredible Board of Directors, Committees, the staff at Association Concepts, the sponsors for our Chat Rooms, the presenters, and our members for all their contributions in the past year. It took an amazing team effort to accomplish the goals we did.

Now on to 2022 and reaching new goals. Our first chat room of 2022 had 65 attendees. We have eleven more to go this year. Make sure you check the site to see when the next one will be and what subject will be discussed.
