WES GORDON FLAGSHIP BOUTIQUE This fashion designer’s flagship boutique is located in the southest corner of the Starr Building in downtown Austin. This space showcases the brand’s garments and accessories. The interior emphasizes the horizontal language and the proportions of the female body, crucial to Wes Gordon’s fashion design. This design is an interpretation of the various levels of transparency to manipulate views. The ‘heavy’ ceiling and floor curves create enclosure and structure to display merchandise.

This custom wallpaper design is inspired by the Wes Gordon Fall 2014 collection, this wallpaper is implemented in the Flagship Boutique.

The goal of this project was to create display units for a gallery space at the Visual Arts Center on The University of Texas campus. This is an immersive interior of functional display for woodworking tools, the exhibit is about the juxtaposition of hand craftmanship and the innovative technology of bentwood and lamination. The initial scheme for the project was inspired by Alvar Aalto’s furniture.

FRIENDS OF THE GOVERNOR’S MANSION

The historic 1856 Mansion required a new state china service and through my internship I was given the opportunity to provide priliminary sketches. The design features key Texas symbols of the oak leaf, acorn and five point star. I assisted with the design process for the final proof of the state china, named the Texas Oak pattern. 27
