NCAA CHAMPIONSIPS & THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE

Setting the Standard for Intercollegiate Athletics in Swimming and Diving

Over the course of several decades, the Southeastern Conference has been a constant force in swimming and diving.

Last season, Tennessee’s Women earned the highest finish an the SEC Championships, with a score of 1108. Florida was a close second after totaling a final score 1079.50. Kentucky, Georgia, and Auburn rounded out the top-five from inside the James E. Martin Aqautics Center on the campus of Auburn. The 2020 NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

On the men’ s side, Florida blew away the competion by winning by over 218 points. The Gators finished with a team score of 1194 to claim the SEC Title. Texas A&M followed the Gators, finishing second with a team score of 975.50. Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri rounded out the top-five. The Men’s NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

MEN’S NOTES

• The SEC has had 11 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships titles: Tennessee - 1978; Florida - 1983 & 1985; Auburn - 1997, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009.

• 2019 marked the 51st consecutive year that the SEC has had at least one team in the top 10 of the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships. The SEC has placed a total of 140 teams in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships since 1969.

• SEC athletes in men’s swimming & diving have captured a total of 183 individual NCAA titles. WOMEN’S NOTES

• The SEC has had 14 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships titles: Florida – 1982, 2010; Georgia – 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2013, 2014, 2016; Auburn – 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007.

• Since 1982, the SEC has placed 106 teams in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships.

• 251 individual NCAA titles have been captured by SEC athletes.
