1U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM MEMBER

Rose Magers represented the Tigers on the international stage as the United States won silver in the Games of the XXIII Olympiad played in Los Angeles (1984).

2NCAA FINAL FOUR APPEARANCES

LSU is one of only two schools in SEC history with multiple Final Four appearances. The Tigers went to back-to-back Final Fours in 1990 and 1991.

5SEC PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The Tigers have notched five postseason SEC honors highlighted by Brittnee Cooper’s 2009 SEC Player of the Year award. Elena Martinez reeled in 2007 and 2008 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, while Marina Skender and Desiree Elliott tallied SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2005 and 2010, respectively.

5SEC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS

LSU claimed the SEC regular season titles in 1986, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 2009. The ’09 Tigers ended Florida’s 18-run year at the top of the league. LSU posted undefeated marks in both 1990 and 1991 only dropping six sets during the two-year span.

7SEC WESTERN DIVISION TITLES

The Tigers won seven SEC Western Division crowns and were an impressive 60-9 over the seven seasons against their division. LSU pieced together a run of 35-straight home wins over the SEC West from 2004-11.

8USA VOLLEYBALL

In nine of the last 11 years, LSU has been involved with various USA Volleyball programs, most notably being Regan Hood as a member of the US. Women’s National Team at the 2014 Pan American Cup and 2013 FIVB World Grand Prix. The Tigers have also won seven medals with the prestigious USA Collegiate National Teams (Formerly known as the A2 program). Former All-Americans Brittnee Cooper and Elena Martinez won gold in 2008, while Cooper picked up a Silver Medal in 2009. Former assistant coach Steven Loeswick added a bronze medal in 2010, followed by head coach Fran Flory’s gold medal in 2011 and Meghan Mannari’s silver medal in 2012. Most recently, Helen Boyle earned gold at the Girls Junior National Championships in Minnesota. Gina Tillis followed graduation with a trip to FISU American games with USA Volleyball, earning a bronze medal. Most recently, Taylor Bannister was named to the U.S. Collegiate National Gold Team in 2020.

14 ALL-AMERICANS The Tigers have 14 AVCA All-Americans in program history, fourth-most of any SEC school. Brittnee Cooper was one of 14 players to earn AVCA First-Team honors in 2009. LSU garnered a pair of AVCA All-Americans from 2007-09, the first time in program history the Tigers have had two All-Americans in three straight seasons.

15 NCAA TOURNAMENT APPEARANCES LSU has made 15 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is tied for fourth among SEC schools. The Tigers strung together six-consecutive bids from 2005-10 for a program record passing up the five-straight postseason bids recorded between the 1989-93 seasons.

18DOUBLE-DIGIT DOMINATION In 18 of the last 20 seasons, the LSU volleyball program has earned no less than double-digit victories in a season, averaging more than 18 wins per year during that stretch. Since the program started in 1974, the Tigers have earned double-digit wins 41 times in 45 total seasons. In 25 of those seasons, LSU has won 20 or more games, earning at least 20 victories in seven of the last 13 years.
