Red, Red The yellowish heart, its blood completely drained, disappears toward the back of an alley, swinging alone its parched veins. Pain follows quickly. At a black bus stop, the man turns his belly over like a red-bellied frog. His belly is red. Redly the man stays still. There have been too many protrusions on his way here. Redly he dries. He will soon be brittle, become invisible. Even though the heart that lost its color comes back, there will be no way for it to find him. There's no knowing, no way of knowing whether a batch of baby reds will be hopping or crawling, or turning around the black bus stop. Copyright 2008 Literature Translation Institute of Korea
