Spring Night Late at night, the child keeps checking if the front door's locked. I say we've nothing worth taking, thieves don't visit our house. The child opens his eyes wide and replies, But there's Mother, isn't there? It takes about three seconds to say, Yes, of course, then I look at the child's motheron her face a crimson flower passes quietly.
