TECHGYAN: F.R.U.G.AL Manufacturing

The speed with which the world around us changed dramatically, initially confounded everybody. As things intensified, the world redefined its expectations of what could be done to work through it; how, from the perspective of sustaining national and global economies, as well as society and communities, we could not only adapt to the current challenges, but also lay foundations for the new normal.

Manufacturers are faced with three core impact areas right now: Social distancing and contactless operations, Business continuity (for all brownfield projects) and Business sustainability. Lessons will be learned in dealing with these impacts that can be directed both to the current and a better future state of operations. LTTS calls this the ‘manufacturing reset’.

In short, manufacturing organizations will succeed to the degree to which they have become FRUGAL: Flexible, Remote, Unconventional, Glocal, and Agile.
