MANAGEMENT OF COMPROMISED IMPLANT TREATMENT with
ALVEOLAR NERVE REPOSITIONING & RESCUE IMPLANTS: A Clinical Report PREVIOUSLY ATTEMPTED “ALL ON FOUR”
MANAGEMENT OF COMPROMISED IMPLANT TREATMENT • The goal of modern implant dentistry is to return patients to oral health in a rapid and predictable fashion, following a diagnostically driven treatment plan. The partially or completely edentulous patient may be unable to recover normal comfort, function, facial aesthetics, or speech with a traditional removable dental prosthesis. • The previous implant treatment of “All on Four” for the following patient resulted in a “compromise”, with an inadequate support system for the mandibular prosthesis and a maxillary complete denture with poor aesthetics. • Correction of the “compromised” treatment consisted of bilateral inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) repositioning, to gain room for rescue implants for a totally implant supported and stabilized prosthesis.
