COVER LETTER
I am a young architect graduated in April 2015 from the Politecnico of Milan and enable to practice at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna. In love with the architectural and urban planning I have already had experiences of working in architectural firms through internships, workshop and collaborations. I’m collaborating with the study of architecture and design Marco Gaudenzi & Associated, but I am currently looking for new experiences that can enrich my cultural background and that can test my knowledge and skills. I like to experience new ways to depict the projects, so continually I try to explore new digital programs and techniques of representation. The passion for architecture is accompanied by the one for design; this last passion inspired me to create something of my own, named LF PowerWallet. With this portfolio I intend to present myself together with some of my academic and professional work, which gave me great satisfaction. Enjoy t

Masterplan
Columbia University requires an expansion of the campus of Morningside Heigths; The new site is located one kilometer to the north, in Manhattanville (Harlem-NYC) situated in an area of disused warehouses and parking lots. Strong human characteristics, such as urban grid, elevated infrastructure and large residential buildings, are situated on an orographic contest formed by soils with significant differences in height, fluvial water and green areas, thus generating some critical issues. The management of this problematic situation becomes a strong point of the project both through the approach of the city to the side of the park that runs close to the waterfront, and through the engagement of the various infrastructures that characterize the area into a dialogue with the city itself.

‘Campus of Urban Interchange’ researches exchange among the university community, local community, and the territory by making itself available in order to create a new center through an urban campus fences-free. New urban squares, linear parks, elevated promenades and ground routes lead quickly to Broadway, a major artery that crosses Manhattan, to Hudson, serving at the same time a public layer on the ground floor dedicated to public services for citizens.

The master plan for the new campus of the Columbia Univesity focuses on a fulcrum identified by the main square, a public space protected that mediates the passage between the city and the University, around which are structured the two university buildings: the Academic Conference Center (ACC) and the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). GSPublisherEngine 0.0.100.100
On the quadrangular perimeter that reflects the shape of the block, two large inclined pillars connected at the top are inserted. These support the long arms of the building and provide sustenance of the public space on top cantilever. Inside, the building is composed by 4 different halls, a large auditorium with the foyer overlooking the promenade, and a large public space located at the intersection of the two sleeves.

On the perimeter of the square, on the sides of 125th and Broadway are placed two large inclined pillars that join at the top to better withstand the lateral forces. These support the long arms of the building and allow to sustenain the ‘tip’ fully cantilevered. Inside, they contain the fire escapes, implants that need to be taken ashore, and discharges from rain water. Structurally, they lead four beams vieerendel topped with lattice that support both arms.

POST EXPO
The project deals with the difficult subject of the redesign of the area assigned to EXPO Milan 2015 by combining at the existing intrinsic themes found a number of external contributions arising from the context. The control of the design process was performed by implementing a series of steps between the various scales, looking for the continuous moments of verification regarding the fundamental treated aspects. The particular location of this area and its heavy infrastructure require broader reasoning; such as the urban mobility and the involvement of the same area within a complex road network: the project provides for the maintenance of the Metro Red Line subway, placing near the same a “Kilometer-Zero market that wants to be a physical and thematic connection between the city and the area in question.

A rigid grid is built (as opposed to the “softer” park next to it) that could integrate with the existing buildings such as the prison, an BILITA'indefinite industrial fabric and the new residential / commercial construction, making them fit together but with a different grit that both unites and diversifies the three ranges. The agricultural park becomes in the territory of post EXPO an area equipped with several features: keeping the link with Cascina VIABILITA' Triulza, a relationship with the prison is established, where the inmates are held outside its walls and are applied to a new formation 1. CONAD Supermarket
Masterplan
The project involves the urbanization of free area currently owned by The Building SRL on Via Francesca da Rimini, in Cattolica. In this place it is liable to move the supermarket CONAD Via Macanno. In the area of intervention they are required public and private parking, a new urban center (square), paths and the new supermarket on two floors with ample space dedicated to the loading / unloading and parking. The peculiarity of the batch is given by the slope of the same, which makes it necessary the connection between the parts most depressed with the portion of entry to the supermarket.

The existing environment [1] consisted of an open-space room where they were gathered workspaces, entry and administration. The expansion involved the use of a neighboring environment [2] connected to the first through an existing opening in the bearing wall central. The design is based on spaces divided by crystals to-ceiling, in a way that allows visual permeability but not the acoustics. This way you can create all environments richeisti by the client and at the same time does not affect the livability and minimum clearances.
