Offices in London New office buildings in Shoreditch, London, 2015 Architecture, Competition project

The project consists of two office buildings, with public facilities, in the area of Shoreditch, east of London. The buildings are rotated 90° to each other, and this involves different plants: The first building is located along the north-south axis, with the facilities placed in the middle, and offices areas at the sides, receiving natural light from the glass facade; the second building, instead, is located along the east-west axis, with the facilities and some office areas located to the north, with a central patio that allows them to receive a good natural lighting. The facades are covered with rotating wooden panels, that allow to filter and direct the light of the sun.

The library is designed with a circular plan on two levels, the upper with the bookshelves, and the lower with study and reading areas. The facade is a glass curtain wall facade, covered by thin white metal panels, which allow inside a good diffusion of natural light.

New Durban Train Station

Warwick Junction redevelopment in Durban, South Africa, 2015 Architecture, Academic project (M.Arch Thesis)

The project consists of the construction of a new railway station in the Warwick Junction area in Durban, South Africa. The station, which serves one of the areas used for the traditional market of the city, includes three main facilities: A service area for trains, one for the handicraft market with small temporary residences for those people who come to the cities from the countryside and who have not a place to sleep, and a commercial area. the idea of the project is to create three new “bridges that join the many bridges already existing in the area, some of which are pedestrian and other for vehicular traffic, connecting the two areas of the city now separated by the railway.

Railway tracks are break point within the city

The two new rectangular buildings become a new pole of attraction for the people of the area

The station uses the symbol of the “bridge, very present in the Warwick Junction area, to create a building that provides access to the tracks, to cross them and that host facilities for the Community

The new station allows you to connect two separate areas of the city

The project consists of three buildings in the outskirts of Rome, called “Casale di Gregna. The area is on the edge between the city and the Roman countryside, towards the Roman Hills. The three buildings are situated around a green space, divided into strips. The idea is to create a public space where people can socialize and spend time togheter outdoors. On either side of the site, are located two large public car parkings, even for those who come from the city to visit the Roman countryside. The buildings are oriented with the bedrooms to the north-west side, and the living rooms and kitchens, to the south-east side, to have a better natural lighting.

New interactive metro station on the Tiber river in Rome, 2014 Design & exibitions, Academic project

The project is a new metro station on the Tiber river in Rome, close to the Pietro Nenni’s bridge. The structure is constituted by a 3D steel grid, with some triangular platforms that rise from the level of the river up to the level of the bridge. The aim of the project, located in a degradated area of the city, despite its central position, is to to become a new focal point for citizen’s socialization, directly above the river, in order to revitalize the relationship between the Tiber and the city, compromised by the construction of the embankments during the XIX century.
