Creative Community Hub Adelaïde, Australia Generate an architecture that enhance interdisciplinarity and serendipity

This proposal for a creative hub in Adelaide aims at underlining the creative identity of the city by enabling it to welcome and host in the same place different forms of expression and productivity. The goal is to offer Adelaide’s inhabitants a large workshop where a variety of work modes and practices can bloom together in dynamic ways : individual/group work, digital/material crafting, co-working.. The creative hub also has a role of cultural mediation and of knowledge exchange. It’s a place to think and to share. Thus the project favors interdisciplinary dialogue and meetings in order to foster generation of ideas and innovative projects. Open, uid and modular, the spacial organization allows for a wide array of functions and uses. New directions and opportunities for creative thoughts and minds are cultivated actively through provoking se-
rendipity : discoveries main road and near or innovations that by streets. may occur in unexpected ways through fortunate chains of cir- cumstances or research on unre- lated topics. In the pursuit of these goals, this project supplies Adelaide’s creative community with a common space to ll and appropriate, like a blank page or a machine whose exact function is to be determined. Moreover the circulation and transition areas are themselves open to multiple use : a staircase can become an auditorium, seats for a screening or a collective class. The focused environment needed for these precious and fruitful mechanisms is guaranteed overall by a protective vegetal cocoon. In echo to the gardens and parcs that surround Adelaide’s city center and allow it to breathe, inner vegetation lters the saturation of the

collective. In addition, a large co-working space will allow students to share their knowledge and to exchange ideas while working on interdisciplinary projects.
This situation allows creating a street as a linear This implantation also allows to create a forecourt at the crossroads of pedestrians arriving from the tramway, the parking area or classrooms. So this proposal consists in a hall that will provide the tools and the opportunity for students to break the boundary between the various departments of this campus (science, literature, biology etc.‌).
A large DIY workshop will allow fine art students to experiment and practice their material without worrying about space restrictions A large concert venue is also included in this project. The modularity of this concert hall will make it possible to accommodate any type of performance from the theater, to the rock concert. This building is designed to offer new insights of the campus, bringing this area between city and country into a new light for all students.
This building is therefore a Laboratory that aims to enhance the spirit of exploration and exchange between students. In this student center, students will have access to working space that could be either individual or

An industrial building Concarneau, France An Industrial infrastructure dedicated to the sailors community as well as the tourist

This project is located in the city of Concarneau on the Northern part of the Atlantic coast of France. After a collective site analysis it turned out that the main objective was to enhance a new kind of tourism that can have a positive impact on the local economy. The industrial area of the harbor seemed to be a perfect place for this. The second idea was to restore the balance regarding of the space dedicated to car park between the medieval city and the industrial area so in the summer the medieval city would not be overfilled of cars. The third objective was to reinforce the status of the “ville close as the emblem of Concarneau. So by developing a new urban dynamic in the industrial area we also bring out new viewpoints on the city.
neau to the surrounding cities. The location of the industrial area justifies the idea of creating a new axis of urban development.
The industrial area of the harbor is located near one of the main road that links Concar-

The industrial harbor is mainly composed of industrial sheds, commercial buildings and buildings related to fishing. We can also see that this area has been forgotten in the last urban strategies because of the large amount of abandoned plots. Because of its spatial organization for industrial purposes this area still has a lot of empty plots that can be filled with new programs. These new buildings have to welcome programs that are a strong bond with the strategy that we want to develop.
munity by giving them several sheds dedicated to boat repair as well as shops related to sailing and fishing. In the same time having in mind the collective strategy this building offers a public car park and some restaurants offering new viewpoints on the medieval city.

Urban Strategy : Sailors community This strategy at the scale of the industrial harbor aims to condense in one plot the storage of boat in addition ofa repair center in order to free some plots located near the housing area. This building will create a new identity in the district that can be attractive for tourist.
40
Urban Morphology: a mixed use building for Concarneau Master 1 Architecture Studio 2018
Create a block : This building had to be the interface between a street and the waterfront. It is also used as a transition point between the arrival of a major car flow and a bridge connecting the two banks of the port. Here we are looking for an isotropic building where no facade is more important than the other.
Create an inside public plaza : This interiority offers the opportunity to show to the visitors the work on boats. It is a place of meeting between the members of the same community: the sailors.
Create physical porosities Two majors axis allow to separate two blocks of different programs but also to offer the opportunity of creating an entrance toward the plaza for the visitors but also for individuals who want to work on their boat. Moreover this process breaks this feeling of linearity of the faรงade.
Create an ecosystem This building is an interface between two parts of the port showing the work on boats. It is a place of work but also of life and meeting between inhabitants, schoolchildren, workers, visitors and tourists.

+ Facade Concept
living room (day use) bedrooms (night use)
68
The facades are organized so that the spaces that are occupied during the day are facing the bedroom to enhance the privacy. The living room facades have visual filters that can be oriented differently to have transparent and open spaces while maintaining views to the surroundings. The night facade will be more opaque with actual walls and narrow openings.

+ Live/Work Typologies To explore the ideas of duration and mixed living in the block, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large scales were implemented into the live and work typologies. The studio workshop (S) allows for a live and work condition in one unit, where other scales such as the XL allow for large work spaces.

+ Units Plan The units themselves dictated the structural plan for the project, allowing for modular and interchangeable unit types to be implemented where appropriate. The floorplans themselves can also rotate within a building to further improve privacy in relation to neighboring buildings.
