Home Remedies for Plantar Warts
Plantar warts are unsightly and embarrassing. They are not harmful that they can be painful especially on your feet. The very fact that they are unpleasant to look at and the occasional pain can be stressful. But at least you can do something about them with countless OTC remedies available as well as some effective home remedies for plantar warts. And here are some you can try yourself. Try the Vinegar treatment. This process involves the use of apple cider vinegar. Begin by soaking your foot in warm water. The next step involves the application of petroleum jelly around the wart. Then, soak a cotton ball into the apple cider vinegar before applying it to the wart. Use a duct tape to cover the affected area along with apple cider vinegar soaked cotton ball. Leave the covering on for a good one hour or as long as you can endure. Do not rinse the area after taking the duct tape and cotton ball off. It is recommended you perform the process at least once every day for the next two weeks. You should see that the wart will turn black and that is actually a good sign. Eventually, the wart will separate from the skin and fall off by itself. The process should be continued at least another week after the wart has fallen off. That is to make sure it is gone for good as warts have a tendency to return. Use tea tree oil. A lot of people have the impression that plantar warts are caused by fungus. But it is actually coming from a strain of virus called the human papilloma virus or HPV. In which case, tea tree oil with its anti-viral properties may be able to treat it. The same process for using the apple cider vinegar can be followed for the application of the tea tree oil. First, soak the affected foot in warm water, apply petroleum jelly around the skin, not the wart, wet the cotton with tea tree oil, dab onto the wart and use duct tape to secure it. Be reminded that the tea tree oil formulation can be a little harsh and as such may cause some skin reaction. If you experience rashes or swelling in the area then it is recommended you stop the application immediately.
