ART PRISON - YAC FAVIGNANA
FINALIST PROJECT The promenade, the horizon, the frame: these are the fundamental elements from which the project is been developed. The ancient promenade, which is actually without a defined end, needs to continue its flow and to properly conclude the way. The new path follows the original lines of the ancient one, covering the building until the main entrance. The design of the new promenade resemble to the exhisting one, but the use of a different material (white metal sheet) clearly shows the difference between the two architectonical elements. The new route limits whith its structure the fabulous view to the sea ( alluding to the garden of Ville Le Lac by Le Corbusier) in order to frame the vastness of the horizon and to show nature as the main form of art.

The promenade The long path made by a sequence of hairpin turns, is the origin of the project. It s actually truncated at the end, without a clear way to enter inside the building. The new proposal wants to add value to the exhisting design, but keeping the same geometrical language of the landscape. On this way the new path, as a paper, bends around the building creating a visual continuity. continuit The horizon The horizontal line of the sea is the main visual line which surraunds the building. For this reason the new design stress it, in order to connect its self to the line of orizon. The frame Finally, every element of the landscape it s framed by the new structure: the sea is framed by the big white window close to the theatre, the courtyard is framed by the railing on the upper level and the building is framed by the path it self.

BANYAN STAGE TAICHUNG
THE BAMBOO PAVILION IN THE NIGHT MARKET AREA
The people s activity in the night market area of Taichung can easely describes their daily habits: during the daytime the streets are empty and the shops are closed because of the tropical climate, but when the temperature decreases the neighborhood comes alive and its streets become crowded of people. The workshop it s been a collaboration between Politecnico di Torino, University of Tokyo and Feng Chia University and it s been guided by the professor KENGO KUMA.
The project takes inspiration from BANYAN, a typical tree from this areas: it has a big crown created by air roots which cames down from the top until the ground and take benefit from the humidity of the environment. ROOF

NUC Veliko Tarnovo Bulgaria
New Urban Centre Competition
The old military area of Veliko Tarnovo is located in a central and strategic location between the old city and the modern development. The masterplan of the new Urban centre is focused on creating small squares and green spaces at human scale , following the natural shape of the exhisting city. At the same time an important attention is given to the relationship with the river and the exhisting park by creating a pedestrian panoramic path along its border. The Expo building is the core of the area and is located on a hill connecting the street level to the new urban centre area which is located 10 meters higher. its concept is based on the relationship between three dierent elements: the ramp, the hall and the envelope.
