What is a vertebrate? Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone (spinal column) and skeleton form from bones.

Vertebrates are divided into five categories:

1) Mammals

4) Amphibians

2) Birds

5) Fish

3) Reptiles


Amphibians:  These animals can live in water and on land.  Are cold-blooded.  Lay eggs. Frog Newt

Mammals:  Feed their babies with their own milk  Are more or less cover with hair  Are warm blooded

Reptiles  Are cold blood.  Lay eggs.  They breathe with lungs.
