Adventure was developed by Atari for the Atari 2600, and released in 1979. It was inspired by the text game Colossal Cave Adventure, and is considered the first action-adventure game on a console.
Game creator Warren Robinett was also the first to insert a well-known "easter egg" in video game history.
Warren Robinett was delighted with Colossal Cave Adventure so he decided to turn it into a video game for the Atari 2600. And that was an idea that didn't really please his bosses at the time, who didn't like the game's innovative concepts.They thought it was too complex and just wanted games that were repeated in search of higher scores, betting on the trivial.
“So what I did was I ignored my boss and so I worked in secret developing a good prototype of Adventure. And then, when I was able to demonstrate to the bosses that my idea was viable, I got the green light to work on this project,” said Warren Robinett.
It's that story: If you believe and think you can get there, you should never get discouraged with the first no. Show what you're capable of. Who knows? The game's story is about an evil sorcerer who stole the Enchanted Cup and hid it somewhere in the kingdom.
The player controls an adventurer, represented by a square on the screen, who must explore this labyrinth in search of the Chalice and return it to Golden Castle, its place of origin. But the task will not be easy, as the sorcerer has created three dragons to finish off the adventurers who will try to recover the cup.
Adventure sparked players' imaginations like no other game had. It put us on an epic adventure, exploring labyrinths, passing through enchanted castles and facing dangerous enemies and dragons along the way.
It was an epoch-making game in many ways. If you died, the item you were carrying was in place of your death for you to recover. But the enemies you killed also returned, including the Dragons. Are you up to the challenge? Venture out!! You will not regret.
