S P A C E I N M O V E M E N T II Spring 2019 Welsh School od Architecture, Cardiff University Architectural Design Studio 3 Unit 8: Love for one’s own house Professor Fani Kostourou The aim of the Project is to regenerate the Smithson’s Robin Hood Gardens, creating a water recycling/housing co-operative that aims to connect people through wáter recycling. London has been classified between the 11 cities most likely to run out of drinking water. Inspired by the blue water tanks of the favelas in Rio de Janeiro, water recycling is seen as and oportunity to face this problem. The resulting design is the literall translation of movement into a plan, generating an interconnected water recycling park that will become a landmark to the city. Some previous concepts: Floating Macrophites Philter Philter:: Water recycling system that allows water purification by installing floating plants such as Lentils or Water Hyacinth which will naturally purify it and absorb the solids. Once the water has circulated through this system twice, the resulting water can be used for flushing toilets or watering green areas.
