Fenchurch street was a limited competition for business residental bulding in City of London, won by Farshid Moussavi architecture. The building has it’s own character and responds to the surroundings by its hight and uniquness but at the same time doesn’t bother the important buildins in the area (the walkee talkie, the gherkin).

Special Focus:

How the model was made? I was responsible for everything regarding the model, from inquiering about materials with various providers through the UK to managing other interns for helping me. First I made 3D model of the area, this was done in Rhino with solids. Than I did the contour on every

millimeter, so that I got 600 sections of the model:. With the help of program called Grasshoper I placed those sections on sheets of paper and lasercut the pieces. At the end all the pieces are glued together and stuck together by a threaded rod. The dimentions of the model. 60x30cm

The cylindral generators such all the cars vertically therefore making space in the area. The whole area becomes selfsufficient town w i t h all the amenities. In the future there will probably not be as much cars as nowadays so the generators can be used for different needs, i.e. office, residential, kindergarden, shops... All that can be placed into a generator if needed.

curch square with various facilities

The area covers the area around the church in Se탑ana, Slovenia. One of the guiding principles in the design concept has been taken into account the views, which flow through the area. Given that the square and the lawn in front of the church are relatively small , the program passes under the surface. With the withdrawal of the facility underground the public space is preserved and the church maintains the area around it.

WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEARNING

Construction of the underground facilities require special attention in the way of feeding light into the rooms. In this case it is also a a classroom so the lighting is even more important . Light enters the premises through a glass south facade which only partially provides sufficient illumination of the classrooms and an additional light source facility receives through the skylight small diameters 15x15cm which are unevenly distributed, depending on the need, scattered across the roof.

DIVINE INSPIRATION

expanded knowledge in creative solutions gained knowledge in architectural conservation

All facilities are powered by a communication corridor , which is in front of the old drop to a new level , but in the end again ascends to the market . Communication corridor also connects all the old and the new part and the market .

Stairs that descend to the level of classrooms and then ascend back on the market are designed as seating area as well. Corridor becomes a stage stairs stand . The room is suitable for staging small games and other cultural events . Large concrete wall that climbs stairs in parallel and the whole corridor is intended for kids drawing pad .

back to basics

After entering the architecture school, I became expert in architecture drawing, very precise and mathematical. Later on I experienced handfree sketching, which I enjoy the most nowadays. The reason is because I see architecture different through sketch, I notice every detail, I experience the place by its fullness.

Pictures of the week! With drawing along came painting, which gave me better view on colours, if I look at it like that, I can see the place only with colours and areas. The same goes with photohraphy, which I got interested in after buying my first camera.

The concept of spatial divides the area into three separate substantive regulatory unit , craft - selling zone , industrial zone factories Lip Bled with the logistics center and a residential neighborhood, which respectively dotted from north to south . The boundary between craft - selling zone and industrial zone factories Lip Bled develops along the existing route, which connects Rečiško Road and Lower Highlands , the boundary between the industrial area and residential neighborhoods follow the virtual building line of the existing kiln towards the railway track . Area ‘ Wood Valley ‘ is accessible via the planned road connection to the Rečica road, which is governed by internal transport links for access to commercial sales zones and factories Lip Bled . Intended race route follows the NW edge of the area parallel to the railways and ends at the surface intended for loading and unloading timber. Access road to the residential neighborhood is planned along the eastern border of the area and in the final work develops along the existing road Triglav , which is in the south Poljšiško connected to the road.

How I worked on a workshop with real life investors

Architecture , in its banal sense of art design space . Its mission is to have all of the time the first homes to provide shelter to humans and maximize quality stay in it. Architecture as a discipline exists because the physical representation of what we are as individuals and what we as a community within a culture. Throughout history , its essence remained the same throughout , except that it was sometimes more , sometimes less visible . Today is slowly beginning to realize clearly what is the basic task architecture , based on user needs to create built space , thus creating a negrajen space in between, again , depending on the needs of the users and not because of the architecture itself. If you want to find out what is the task of architecture today , we can not ignore the development tasks of architecture in the past. Throughout history, the primary task of architecture upgrade , more and more because of the preferences

of individuals , and not so much due to their needs . In ancient times have shaped public spaces devoted to religious ritual. In this way, the architecture first began to work for the needs of the culture and not to individual needs . The Middle Ages was driven architecture , whose task is to defense against attacks , in addition, launched by the company because of castles , private mansions , luxury ... very razslojevati . The highlight , for example, Versailles , where I can not imagine that anyone could actually use such a huge space as their living unit . It is the neglect of the basic tasks of architecture , where prioritize the wishes of the individual , not his or her needs . Desires are formed according to the social norms , which at that time the size and ornaments represent wealth and influence. Later start research in architecture , in terms of finding new , beautiful, artistic , something that keeps the soul. In

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF ARCHITECTURE TODAY? modern times , the architecture first appears as a branch of art which is an end in itself . Berlin Pavilion in Barcelona is not in its architecture essentially a response to the needs of a particular user , but the architecture due to its architecture . In my opinion, the very recent past, the essence of the tasks of architecture most masked . In addition , it appears architecture, which is an end in itself , it puts forward the architecture of profit due to policy , social issues , ... Architecture has become more than just a building, transformed in the process where developing quality , money , stamina and local laws . It seems to me that all this is the result of a social system that thinks everything else rather than the people themselves . Like any new social system is the result of the previous one, this is also evident in the architecture . The task of architecture throughout history , therefore, builds and transforms , but the principle remains essentially the

same. Today, once again increased emphasis on facilities that are geared to the needs of the people providing the social security and building environmentally friendly . It is the latter , in my opinion, led to questions about the essence of tasks arhitekure . When the building as little wasteful, both in the sociological sense as in organic , it is necessary to consider the importance of certain elements . Each element is unnecessary as soon obsolete. A very good example I find projects Lacaron & Vassal Architects in Paris , where the main idea in the design and construction is to offer quality and comfort for once less money than usual, while generating sustainable architecture. Today, we have to realize that the task of architecture in its essence remains the same as in prehistoric times. Take into account the needs of its user about their needs and using technology to create a built environment that will provide appropriate accommodations .
