Paul Smith Exhibition A recommendation for anyone in London is to visit the ‘Hello, my name is Paul Smith’ Exhibition at the Design Museum. It’s really something quite special. It tells a story, a story about how the his name has evolved from a tiny 3m square shop in Nottingham to a infamous global brand. It showcases original pieces from past collections, designer collaborations, catwalk films and real life models of his first shop and show rooms, his office and studio space. The exhibition is colourful, bold and simply amazing. It is so inspiring to see what hard work and a little ambition can do to create such an influential and global brand.
Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition The Jean Paul Gaultier is currently on at the Barbican Centre, towards east London. It showcases the best of the French Haute Couture designer’s work in a unique and maybe slightly bizarre way, with many of the mannequins having faces projected on to them. A beautiful section of the exhibition is the lingerie. The pieces were simply breath taking and the attention to detail really made me appreciate the amount of time and effort that must have gone into these. Truly inspiring.
‘The Art of Fashion’ is inspired by the modern day street art and graffiti that we see everyday. Influenced by the colours, graphics and textures these works of art hold, it captures their beauty , boldness and passion.
