Puffin Book Cover Design

Lewis Caroll, born in 1832 was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and a photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. He is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy, and there are societies dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand.

Based on the Puffin brief to design a suitable book cover for the rerelease of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, I extended the brief to create not only the cover, but various promotional materials for a book launch event.

To accompany the book, a poster, an invite and a book mark were created to work as promotional tools for a book launch event, these were all designed to work succesfully as a set.

Paper Product Pattern Design

A self iniated project to create a unique and whimsical pattern to be applied to gift based products inspired by English countryside.

The pattern and characters were created to be applied to a range of products including gift wrap, greetings cards and gift tags.

Sainsbury’s Shopper Bag Design

A set of three designs created for Sainsburys to promote their three key aims within the company applied to shopper bags.

The designs were intended to appeal to a younger and perhaps less enviromentally aware audience, the designs were created as a fun, tongue-in-cheek set of illustrations.

Hovis Pattern Design

A illustration based pattern created to be applied to Hovis to create new and modern, yet with a classic feel merchandise for the brand.

While the primary applications were that of the oven glove and the tea towel, more applications are possible such as aprons, lunchboxes.

Memphis Belle Boutique Branding

Branding and promotion for Leeds based boutique Memphis Belle, using high impact illustration and 2 primary colours to create hype and intrigued about the shop.

The logo was created and the following promotional materials created around it including poster, flyers and gift bags/tags.

Moo Milk Packaging

Designs for the milk brand Moo and their small pack-up sized flavoured milk cartons, I chose to aim this at children to promote more milk drinking among them and their parents who buy said milk.

As well as milk carton designs, an accompanying poster campaign was devised to work as a set with the cartons, again aimed at children.
