A word from Luke
“My aim is to make every golfer that walks through the door a golfer that is better equipped in every aspect by the time that they leave the same door. Also, we aim to reduce everyone’s handicap by three or scores by at least five shots.
My client base has increased dramatically over the years and this year will see some interesting changes for all. Seeing everyone benefitting from an advanced studio that has state-pfthe-art technology to enhance their existing or new equipment makes my job worthwhile and it gives me a satisfying feeling to see every client grow and improve as a golfer.

Whetheryou are a well-established society or simply a group of golfers looking to play an interesting course, Canons Brook is the ideal place to play.
When Henry Cotton designed Canons brook he successfully created a unique course that is fair and comfortable for golfers of all abilities. This makes it the perfect place for society golf days. Designed with his experience of american courses in mind, it uses minimum rough and large greens, relying on the layout of the land to provide the challenge while improving speed of play.
The clubhouse provides a comfortable, convivial atmosphere and offers a range of food options to meet the specific needs of the society.
Canons Brook provides a relaxed golfing experience while expecting golfers to wear recognised golf attire on the course and adhere to the clubhouse dress code of smart casual or clean, dry golfwear.
For safety reasons, players are requested to play in recognised golf shoes .
On the course:
Dress code hbproperty.co.uk
Golfers are expected to wear recognised golf attire. The following are not allowed; collarless or sleeveless t-shirts unless recognised golf attire, denim shirts, shorts or trousers, footwear other than golf shoes, tracksuit tops or bottoms, football or rugby wear.
A well-known sign seen all over town for over 50 years... and in some very odd places around the Canons Brook Golf Club!
Playing ability
Whilst a handicap certificate is not demanded to gain access to the course, we do require a satisfactory level of competence when playing. Anyone not achieving this level may be asked to leave the course.
Etiquette
All mobile phones must be switched to silent and only used for emergency calls. Repair all pitch marks and replace divots, keep up with the game in front and if you lose ground, invite the game behind to play through.
In the clubhouse: following your round we realise that relaxing in the clubhouse with friends is part of the day. Subsequently, we have an informal approach but ask that our dress code of smart casual wear or clean, dry golf attire in the clubhouse is respected. The following are not allowed; the wearing of hats, bare feet, beach shorts or flip-flops, track suits or jogging bottoms, football or rugby wear and sleeveless vest tops. Please avoid wearing muddy or wet clothes in the clubhouse. golf shoes should be restricted to the spike bar, but soft spikes may be worn in the summer.

The Canons
Set amidst the rolling parkland of a beautiful 18-hole golf course Canons Brook is the perfect setting for your big day. Whether it be a wedding, a family gathering, business events and formal functions. A choice of two great venues, panoramic views, wonderful food, and attentive service, all combine to make an experience you will never forget.
The clubhouse, which retains the style of existing barn buildings, provides a relaxing and friendly atmosphere and it’s available for hire either in its entirety or partitioned off to suit your event needs.
The Tithe barn is a grade II Listed building that leads out to the barn garden with its centrepiece pergodathe perfect location for your wedding. The barn and garden together provide an entirely private and inclusive venue both indoors and out.
The maximum capacity of the barn is 120 people including children, with 250 in the clubhouse. These limits will be strictly imposed. In the interests of comfort, it is suggested that no more than 80 people attend a barn function at which a full meal is served, or 120 in the clubhouse. We also recommend that no more than 120 attend a buffet style, or 250 in the clubhouse.
Both venues are available for hire, at the discretion of the food and beverages manager, for receptions, social functions and business meetings to members of Canons Brook Golf Club. Companies, bona fide clubs and associations and private persons are also able to hire out our facilities.

Visitors are reminded that Canons brook is a busy golf course and that they are potentially dangerous places. For these reasons, people attending events in the barn are required to keep within the confines of the barn itself and the attached garden area.
Canons brook golf Club has a large car park, is easy to find and close to the railway station with direct rail links to London and Cambridge, the M11 and Stansted Airport. There are several hotels close by for those guests requiring accommodation.

The club accepts no responsibility for any kind of costs, accident or injury arising from a breach of these conditions.
