Members at Verulam Golf Club enjoy a full programme of golf throughout the year. There are fixtures against other clubs, together with competitions to be enjoyed alongside fellow members, some for silverware and some of a more social nature.

There is always something to suit your handicap, age and golfing desire at Verulam Golf Club and you will certainly not be short of playing opportunities.

The men enjoy a strong competitive golf calendar both within the club and with other golf clubs and leagues. The scratch team represents Verulam Golf Club in league matches and other players take part in fixtures including the Herts Champion Club, the Herts Inter-Club Foursomes and in the London Amateur Foursomes.

When there are no competitions being played golfers can simply turn up and play without booking and meet new golfing partners. Men within the handicap range of 9-20 also get an opportunity to play for our Foxes side, with frequent home and away matches each year. They usually contain 12 players per side and the match is followed by a two-course dinner, making Foxes’ matches a very social experience.

For the more mature golfer, there is also the Senators side offering the opportunity to play in competitive matches against other clubs on a home and away basis and enjoy a meal afterwards in social surroundings.

Every Tuesday and Thursday members meet in the clubhouse from 8am for an individual Stableford competition off full club handicap. Groups of four also play a betterball match play competition in the winter thus offering a great way to meet and play with new people.

Lady golfers at Verulam have a full range of varied competitions that cater for all playing abilities and standard and having a tee reservation on Wednesday and Saturdays.

The county’s premier competitions are well supported with teams entered in the Pearson Trophy and League competitions.

We also play a number of friendly matches against other clubs on a home and away basis both mid-week and at the weekend.

These matches are very social occasions with the chance to socialise and catch up with old friends as eagerly anticipated as the opportunity to play golf itself.

Whether you are a member or not, if you are looking to improve and learn more advanced golfing techniques we also offer the opportunity to join our various academy and tuition classes.

There are many advanced and beginners’ sessions covering posture, balance, power, swing, chipping, putting and bunker play.
