founded in 1900, West essex Golf Club has provided both members and visitors a world of character, inspiration and unparalleled natural beauty for more than 100 years.

The championship parkland course was designed by James Braid and measures 6,289-yard, providing 18 great holes of golf. The course is kept in outstanding condition all year round by the dedicated green keeping staff for both members and visitors to enjoy. As well as offering a demanding but enjoyable course, ‘The West’ also has a long history of successfully hosting golf societies, private functions, lunches, weddings, golf days, conferences and events.

The present clubhouse was opened in 1989 and offers a relaxed, modern atmosphere in tune with the needs of all visitors to the club. The staff offer a warm welcome and our catering is regarded as amongst the best in the region. We provide everything that a golfer would expect at a well-established club. The Pro Shop stocks a full range of equipment and clothing while expert tuition and extensive practice areas offer the opportunity to work on your game and lower your handicap.
