2020
Juan Lobera + Ana Sebastiá + Luis Turreira The base of the project comes from the connection of three housing prototypes in an empty solar in Donnadeulf, Wien. In order to generate a multifunctional complex we decided to establish some rules about the occupancy of each use, creating a balance between them. The final result is an intervention where the co-existence of nature, living and working becomes a reality by rethinking the ways to use the concepts of the three housing prototypes.

AFINELINE (Not) A contemporary museum for Bacoli Re-use Italy 2020 Jorge Sánchez Bajo + Luis Turreira
The idea of generating a specific element capable of reviving the city of Bacoli is combined with the intention of connecting with the tradition of the area through the contemporary and interested adaptation of extinct buildings in the city and the minimal action on the Piscina Mirabilis. The idea of unifying the entire programme in a single space was abandoned, proposing a linear action that connects the bay with the Piscina Mirabilis, and to which are incorporated reinterpretations of the spaces proposed in the programme, with an open and multifunctional character. The idea of creating a museum of contemporary art loses its meaning when studying both the priorities of the people of Bacoli and the communications and access to the Piscina Mirabilis itself.

RURAL’s OBJETIFICATION ‘ExtraLocal, Abundance Workshop’ Columbia University GSAPP, Estudio Herreros, Fundación Antonino y Cinia. (Ana Herreros, Khoi Nguyen, Jesse McCormick) 2019 Juan Lobera + Inés Fernández + Luis Turreira
After a first approach to the relationships between the rural world and the urban one, we identify a situation of dependence of the rural towards the city. This can be easily understood from the 19th century Costumbrismo paintings. They represent this idea of using the rural landscapes as pure objects of beauty that satisfy the interests of the bourgeoisie. It is basically the objectification of the rural. Using the foundation’s functioning as an analysis tool, we can consider a network of multiple kind of relationships between multiple rural cores. That lets us understand how the cooperation between them, allows them to reinforce themselves and re-balance the situation between the rural and the urban.

RISING GRID Tokio parking tower reThinking architecture competitions 2018 Juan Lobera + Luis Turreira
The project arises from the coexistence of three main elements, the first one on the street level, where the life of the city converges with the access of cars to the mechanized communication system, through which the automatic parking process begins and where there is access to the drive-in cinema on the 14th floor (+65m). The tower ceases to be a space of transition to adopt a static personality becoming a landmark of the city.

GATEWAY ETSAM Architectural design 5 Tuñon Unit (professors: Luis Rojo, María Langarita, Jose maría Sánchez)
2018 The project arises from the idea of coexistence of a public space generated from the staggered and raised height distribution of a private space. Placed in the historical center of Aleppo, it has a relationship, not only spatial, but also with its program with the souk Al-Medina, which is the main focus of tourism and commerce in the city. The uses of the project are developed in the vacuum generated by the succession of the structural elements that sustain the private space which connects directly with this trough a communications system that respects, varying in form, the condition of staggering that project presents, allowing an opening of all housing to the city of Aleppo.
