Luis Toro Born in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina in 1974. Composer, director and instrumentist. He took a course of studies in Musical Composition at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba college (UNC). In 2001, he settles in Buenos Aires to continue with his education with Gabriel Valverde in CEAMC. He participated actively in the course Taller de Composición which was directed by Gerardo Gandini in the Teatro Colón theatre in Buenos Aires in 2003. From 2004 he continues his education with the professor Gandini at his study. In 2008 he was selected to the Melos Gandini scholarship. Awards received: 1° Mention of Regional Awards (2001), Juan Carlos Paz Award (2005), IV Eduardo Alemann Competition (2008). He has organized the Art’s Festival of Comodoro Rivadavia, The Materia Prima Concerts (Buenos Aires), and PIC(k)NIC (Córdoba). He received scholarships from the Undersecretary of Culture of the country (2000) and Secretary of culture of Chubut (2004-5). Since 2010 he participates and is the co-director of the group of collective creation LA TURBA (CEPIA- UNC). His plays have been performed for the first time in Córdoba and Buenos Aires, as in many other cities of the country in charge of distinguished soloists and ensembles. His plays have been performed by a varied number of soloists and ensembles : Nuevo Ensamble Colectivo emsemble, MEI (Patricia García), Sirius Ensemble, Suono Móbile, Buenas Salenas, Ricercare ( quartet of recorders), Red Ensemble, Leim Ensemble, Manos A las Obra. Since 2011 he runs LOS NÚMEROS QUE CANTAN An experimental music Project in Córdoba. He is a member of the Research of Creative Processes in Musical Composition’s team: El Sincretismo como Fenómeno Compositivo (Secyt- Universidad Nacional de Córdoba). Currently, he is assistant professor in Composition III of the course of studies of Musical Composition (Art’s school – UNC).
