El C.O is a music school located in Guácimo, Limón, Costa Rica. The design arises from the need to create a space for the community, for teaching music to boys and girls as well as for cultural activities. Starting from the field geometry and the light / dark concept, the architectural object opens and closes depending on the permeability of the activities. Sound is the most important variable for this design since the acoustics of those spaces that needed it were worked on from its shape. Sound analysis was done with Rhino’s Pachyderm. In the same way, the location’s micro climate was considered, which conditioned the choice of materials for thermal comfort such as sound.

A place where 5 of the biggest hospitals of the country are within a 10km radius, it need living places for the doctors, nurses, administrators and every worker. That is why this luxury apartments are built, with open green spaces, and a chill vibe so the staff can live in a relaxing lifestyle after the long shifts. The structure of the gray concrete keeps it cool and modern and having the contrast of the hardwood gives the style a little bit of warmth.

This project is a 42 apartment building in the middle of Barrio Mexico in San José, designed to attract more people to living in San Jose, a place which has turned into a place of only commercial stores and industry. An entrance to a building in the middle of the capital in Costa Rica is designed to leave urban spaces to the city, and designing with landscaping to attract people to the first floor commercials. Over it, you can go up to the 8 stories of apartment, distributed 6 apartments in each floor. The logic of the design is to play with the volumes in a way you will always be looking at a different facade.

We as designers have to give back to the community in any given way, that is why this project is specially designed for the homeless in the cities of Costa Rica that has the most. The goal of the project is to make the people inside feel safe by being indoor but to have a connection with the outdoor. Its organic form has the intention to make the space feel like it is continuous and always moving, you cannot encounter straight walls, the curve gives the sensation of infinity. The project provides a large dining room for 100 people, and also showers to let the homeless clean themselves and stay for a certain amount of time.
