Recent advances in LED and lighting control systems have made it possible to optimize and even personalize the lighting conditions for every space or occasion. But to understand the benefits of these new options, it has become critical to evaluate lighting in the right context. This is where the strength of virtual reality (VR) comes in. VR makes it possible to place users inside the environment and showcase the benefits of light in the relevant context.

As such, VR provides new exciting opportunities for lighting specifiers to evaluate and showcase their lighting designs and ideas. And it gives end users of the space and even consumers new ways to understand and fully embrace the variety of benefits that lighting can offer.

When evaluating lighting solutions, it has become increasingly important to first understand the requirements of the environment and the context in which the lighting will be used. Using virtual reality, this is now possible. Once they put on their VR glasses, users can instantly immerse themselves in new spaces and be given the ability to change the light settings or lighting products by the touch of a button to quickly compare different options.
