SCAM alert
Warning: Online Marketplace Fraudster are targeting Jobseekers. Fraudsters are advertising bogus online sales roles on job vacancy websites in the hope of attracting unsuspecting jobseekers. Once a jobseeker has shown interest, the fraudsters tell them they will be selling goods on the company’s behalf; often the goods are cars or machinery but they could be anything. Jobseekers are also instructed that they must use their own personal pre-existing bank accounts and payment methods, as well as their own online marketplace accounts. Once the victim has transferred their money to a bogus escrow provider, no goods are ever received and all contact is severed. This leads to a financial loss for the buyer of the goods as nothing is ever received. Likewise, the recruited jobseeker receives none of the promised payment for their work as originally stipulated in the bogus advert.
Impact on businesses : Employees could perform this job while working for your company, because most of the work is done on the internet (advertising), and can be performed after working hours or during weekends. The risk is that these employees use your companies online marketplace accounts, and eventually, the risk is that they damage your brands image/name. Report Luppo provides advice on handling this risk

This possibility of obtaining sensitive data may encourage some foreign countries or companies to propose subcontracting contracts to French and European companies through cheap prizes for this sole purpose.
This report, produced by the French Interior Ministry, shows that several foreign countries / companies are stepping up their efforts with French and European companies in order to obtain subcontracting contracts and subsequently carry out such operations.
