Common Man-Made Fibers

Man-made fibers, also called synthetic fibers, are those that are made from inorganic materials. The inorganic materials are often combined with naturallyoccurring materials plus chemicals, or come from mixtures of both organic and inorganic materials. Man-made fibers have their own unique characteristics which make them comparable to natural fiber – or even better. Here are the common synthetic fibers that most clothing manufacturers use. Chiffon – Chiffon is widely used in many different occasions. It is created from silk, cotton, and different fibers. This fiber has a soft and comfortable texture which makes it ideally used in gowns, layering of gowns, lingerie, and even scarves. Some designers make use of chiffon for casual designs like blouses and skirts. Acrylic – Acrylics are available in two types, Courtelle and Orlon. The good thing about this type of fabric is that it is durable and lightweight. It can be used as an alternative to wool and can be created for different apparels. Also, it is considered a great material for chairs and sofas due to its ability to resist wear and tear. Nylon – This is another type of fiber used in residential and commercial products. It has a strong elastic property which is great for items like wallet, bags, sofas, and similar items. Like acrylic, nylon can resist wear and tear so it can be used for a long time. It is also easy to manufacture so it is one of the most ideal products to trade.

Velvet – Velvet is the smoothest among all types of fabrics. It has a distinct characteristic that makes it a great material for shirts, blouses, gowns, trousers, and many more. It can also be used for household items like curtains, covers, and bed sheets. It has a matte finish with a high-end look, so popular icons usually wear them on special occasions. Other man-made fibers are polyester, taffeta, denim, rayon, spandex, georgette, viscose, grey, satin, and polypropylene. It is good to visit a clothing store or a clothing manufacturer to see the actual differences of each material. Man-made fibers vary in style and color so if you are a designer, you may want to be familiar with it. Visit Gulati Group for more details.
