Bringing a tropical retreat to the heart of Charleston’s Historic District, Gingerline recently opened. As the first standalone restaurant concept from acclaimed hospitality group Charlestowne Hotels, Gingerline is a destination for vibrant cocktails and coastal-inspired dishes influenced by the flavors of Latin & South America.
Boasting a 3,500-square-foot venue and an expansive outdoor patio overlooking Market Street, Gingerline’s indoor-outdoor space seats up to 122 guests. Envisioned by local design firm Jenny Keenan Design, the restaurant’s Instagrammable interior greets guests with patterned tile flooring and a 12-seat bar with cheery yellow woodwork and purple velvet stools. Natural wood textures, rattan accessories and crisp, white-fringed patio umbrellas create a coastal ambiance, while eye-catching wallpaper and a colorful mural by local artist Becca Barnet add energy and dimension to the restaurant. With a luxury hospitality background including positions at The Ritz-Carlton Company and Hotel Bennett, executive chef Taylor Cunningham oversees Gingerline's coastal-influenced cuisine. Cunningham incorporates Latin and South American inspiration with ingredients that are native to Charleston, creating a lineup of tapas-style dishes designed to be shared.

Gingerline is located at 55 Market St. and is open for dinner everyday and for brunch Saturday and Sunday. To learn more, please visit the restaurant online, follow along @GingerlineCHS or call 843.996.1818.

CHARLESTON - Toadfish Outfitters has partnered with Kevin Joseph, Founder of Oyster Week and Owner of downtown’s Raw Lab, to produce the first annual Charleston Oyster Week taking place November 6-18, 2022: a collection of bespoke events spread across the Lowcountry, all centered around the renowned bivalve, the oyster. A portion of the proceeds from Charleston Oyster Week will benefit the Toadfish Conservation Coalition, a non-profit foundation of Toadfish Outfitters, that specializes in nationwide oyster restoration and conservation. “We’re excited to be partnering with Kevin in creating Charleston’s first Oyster Week together,” said Casey Davidson, founder of Toadfish Outfitters, the Toadfish Conservation Coalition, and 13th generation South Carolina native. “Charleston Oyster Week gives us an opportunity to orchestrate an impactful community experience that directly benefits the Lowcountry’s long-held shellfish industry and precious marine ecosystems.” The history of Oyster Week began in September 2012 when Joseph created the first New York Oyster Week. In addition to New York, The OysterHood added Miami Oyster Week in 2017. Charleston Oyster Week is the third addition to their collection of Oyster Week cities. “An Oyster Week is a manifestation of our collective human history with the oyster, going back 150,000 years,” said Kevin Joseph, founder of Oyster Week, Empire Oyster, and RAW LAB. “It is a celebration of the oyster’s role in our history, culture, cuisine, economy and ecology: past, present and future.” To learn more about Charleston Oyster Week and to purchase tickets, please visit www.oysterweek.com

A PERSONAL VIEW ON HIGH FASHION & STREET STYLE:
Photographs from the Nicola Erni Collection, 1930s to Now. THROUGH FEBRUARY 12, 2023
Exploring fashion and street style photography through the eyes of Swiss collector and patron Nicola Erni, who has built one of the most important private collections of fashion photography. For the first time this comprehensive collection of more than 250 photographs is being presented in a public institution.
Alongside high fashion photography, originally created for editorial and commercial projects by famous photographers such as Richard Avedon, Tina Barney, Guy Bourdin, Arthur Elgort, Hiro, Horst P. Horst, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Tyler Mitchell, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Cindy Sherman, Albert Watson, and Esther Haase, street style photography will also be on view. This photographic genre, noted for its candid and spontaneous approach to capturing everyday people in their daily, urban lives, is documented in the work of renowned artists such as Harry Callahan, Lee Friedlander, Anthony Hernandez, Helen Levitt, Garry Winogrand as well as Bill Cunningham and Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist), amongst others. Rather than showing the works chronologically, High Fashion & Street Style looks at the binding themes and synergies that run through the photographs, dividing the exhibition into twelve sections such as The New Look, Fiction & Fantasy, Unreal, or Unfiltered. In addition to the main sections, High Fashion & Street Style includes backstage material from the world of fashion including portraits of era-defining models and designers that shaped our view of beauty and clothes from the 1930s to the present day. The exhibition will present rare vintage prints, large-format photographs, Polaroids, and original collages.
It is a strongly personal exhibition, which reflects Nicola Erni’s close relationship with a great number of artists. A substantial number of prints are unique and were especially produced for the Nicola Erni Collection or commissioned by her. - Norton www.norton.org

Providing a wide variety of skin rejuvenation procedures for his select clients, perusing the menu of the Care Esthetics website will leave you wanting to sample all the offerings. From the moment I stepped into this unique oasis, my choice was the Bio-Care facial rejuvenation. The lovely staff greeted me; I quickly felt like I was among friends at a beautiful new spa. The Doctor and his medical assistant, Lauren, immediately put me at ease.
As my friends know, I vere toward natural approaches in everything I do. The specialized natural treatments that are handcrafted to cater to your needs indeed leave you feeling cared for every step of the way. The added benefit of staving off the inevitable facelift is one reason to run, not walk into Care Esthetics. Consistently curious, I was fascinated to learn that PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin is a form of blood plasma with a high concentration of platelets. The process is literally delivered from the inside out. Well, do I have your attention?

INSIDE OUT BEAUTY
By Margaret Bastick Luce
There is cause for excitement, ladies (and gentlemen); Dr. Miron has landed in Jupiter. Moving from Sarasota, we are thrilled to welcome the affable Dr. Miron and his staff to Palm Beach County. Moving to the area to hang out with the age-defying beauties of South Florida, they certainly have created an exquisite facility in Three Palms Plaza. A true gem, I recommend him to all my girlfriends, and side note to men, they are doing wonders with PRF and hair loss. Rest assured, you are in excellent care at Care Aesthetics.
I would be remiss in sharing more without adequately introducing you to Dr. Richard Miron. This internationally recognized clinician helped pioneer several concepts related to blood concentrates (PRP/PRF), their related protocols, and their potential health benefits over standard materials available today. The pioneer of the Bio-PRF system utilizing his technology. Sharing knowledge gained from years in Switzerland, he generously educates clinicians, doctors, and facial estheticians worldwide about the latest clinical practices and medical research for facial rejuvenation.
