CASE STUDY

SIR JOHN SOANE HOUSE

GRAPHIC BUILDING SECTION PHOTOSHOP A digitally drawn graphic section captures atmosphere & sucession through space from romantic, picturesque rooms to sublime and contemplative spaces

SKETCH - SPATIAL THEATRICAL TROPES - INK ON TRACE Digging deeply to find the “essence’ of Sir John Soane’s masterpiece of a home, I found that tracing over a photo of the famously filled Dome Room and Crypt room assisted in my understanding of his eccentric fragmentation and layering of space, only made successful with the inclusion of each piece.

W O R K AT E A I I THOUGHTS FROM CO-WORKERS

“ Luxmy consistently demonstrated excellent organizational skills ” making her a superb multi-tasker. She communicates well with other project members such as owners, project managers, consultants and contractors alike. Moreover, she takes on all assignments with enthusiasm and dedication, consistently delivering projects on time regardless of deadlines or other pressure. Kevin So, Senior Technologist at EAII

She is dedicated to learning more about her field of ” “ interest and is always looking for more ways to improve her

performance and knowledge. She is exceedingly careful in her work and I find her to be very cooperative and works well in our office and team environment. Kerry Lathwell, Executive Assistant at EAII

EXISTING LIBRARY

With the opportunity to upgrade a secondary school’s dated library, I assisted architects at EAII with creating a concept to revitalize and help bring students to the library as a new learning commons and hub for their daily activity. Developing early designs, I drafted the schematic design into a BIM model and created renderings of the interiors to assist the school’s municipality with fundraising for the library’s renovation.

HOTSPRINGS COVE, BC SEISMIC UPGRADE Scope: repair and upgrade building interior, make basement space accessible and easier to occupy. Modify deck, which was sitting on piers that were slowly leaning towards the sloping bank. Secure building to be seismically stable. Heavily consulting with structural engineers, shear walls, hold downs, and shear braces, are proposed to be added to the health center I created the tender drawings for these proposed changes, including plans, elevations, sections and details.

Team submission (in collaboration with Lucas Druet, Alex Stringer and Lucas Stringer) for VIVA Vancouver’s 2015 “Robson Redux” competition with the production of an outdoor plaza design of a grove of synthetic trees. Using biodegradable and eco-friendly materials like bamboo and hemp, the clusters of seating areas create an organic, shaded environment for summer relaxation.
