This tiny diner in the heart of Soho is a little gem, although it’s no secret. Arrive at any time, and be prepared to have a little wait on your hands but it’s certainly worth it. The Chicken and Waffles is a must try and if you’re really hungry, then have a go at the Big Stax. Just remember to save space for a classic banana split.

When you just need some good home-cooked style food, then head to Tukdin in Paddington. A short walk from several tube stations, dive right into some Nasi Goreng and Beef Redang. The cosy interior is welcoming by your hosts, where they balance fresh ingredients with authentic flavours.

Finally, London is on the map with its very own PF Changs. The restaurant has a separate area for pork items to avoid any contamination and all other meat items are halal. The usual favourites are on the menu like the iconic Dynamite Shrimp but expect to wait for a table pre-theatre!

There’s not many places you can find meat free and alcohol free in one place (that’s not Muslim owned). The Redemption Bar, located in three central London locales offers just that. Add sugar and wheat free to their repertoire and it becomes too curious to pass up. Try the pulled barbecued Jackfruit and their selection of mocktails.

Themed around an Arabic movie starlet, the vintage street food theme of the bright interiors from Haymarket to Heathrow are always a welcomed reprieve from the busy city. Start by sampling the Baba Ghanuj before heading into their ‘favourites’ which include the Chicken Moussakhanand the Spiced Salmon Shakshuka.
