A Family holiday to charming Vietnam A holiday to Vietnam has been on my bucket list of countries to visit since first I saw a photo of rice terraces in Sapa back to 2001 when I was only 18. The country has its own unique history and natural wonders like Halong bay, there are so many beauties to explore, this country has many things to anyone with any style and character. Coming to Vietnam for holiday is not all about war memories, visiting the world famous sites, participate in national ceremonies and so on, Vietnam is a country with wonderful attractions, food culture and a great contrast between modernity and the traditional way of living. My family and I started our Trip to Vietnam in Hanoi, and ended up in the Saigon.
Highlight of our trip to Vietnam? Culturally, seeing the ladies selling street foods in almost any corner, or walking around the hoan kiem lake and talk to the friendly students who aim to practice their English skill, Hanoi is full of surprise that makes anyone want to stay longer in the oriental capital of Vietnam. We went for a 3 days trip to Sapa and found this mountainous city one of our most favorite parts of holiday to Vietnam.
What are the best tourist attractions? I would suggest visiting the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and surrounded parklands in Ba Dinh Square, this place represents the burial place of the Ho Chi Minh, the leader of new Vietnam who died in 1969. Like any sian country, Vietnam is also full of many temples and pagoda, my favorite one was the literature temple as it marked the first university of Vietnam adting back to 1000 years ago. In Sapa we loved home stay because it gave us the extra bonus to experience living with locals, Halong Bay was such an
amazing place, the cruises are vary from low budget of 50 $ to up to 1000 $ for 2 days 1 night stay, we chosen one that our agent Luxury Travel Vietnam has suggested (of course based on our budget). Hue and Hoi An were impressive specially the cooking classes and the pleasant walking in the old town at night. Ho Chi Minh city was hot while Hanoi and other cities were cooler, this city Is almost about anything to do and to see. We took 2 days and 1 night trip to Mekong delta and we enjoyed our time a lot.
Sleep
Our trip to Vietnam arranged without any hassle, we stayed in nice hotels all with good location and walking distances within the old town, specially the one in Ho Chi Minh City, there are many tourists from anywhere, we had some good talks with a couple from Melbourne who chooses Vietnam as their holiday destination.
Eat
The food in Vietnam is tasty though I never tasted some of them. They street foodies are just everywhere, fruit stalls too, we tried Vietnamese BBQ and the noodle soup and tried fish and the spring rolls in Saigon.
Any tips for other travelers making their holidays to Vietnam. Most locals can’t speak English well, so be prepared, we haven’t face any issue as we traveling with organized tour from Luxury Travel Vietnam. When you enter a store, you will always hear “Xin- Chao” (Sin Chao) it means Hello and welcome to my shop. If you try to speak a little bit of Vietnamese then it helps you in such a cases. If you travel on rainy season, then prepare for some rain coat, but if you travel in winter then Northern and central Vietnam has a mild winter.
