This experiment ended with only one patient having shown an immediate drop in weight amounting to 3/4 ounces (approximately 21.3 grams ), which coincided with the time of death.

"I" is a script written by me which based on the " 21g soul " experiment. It concerns implantation of intelligent personality; soul and consciousness convert between human and robot.

4.48 PSYCHOSIS

-- A script written by SARAH KANE about psychological experience of a woman suffering from depression, who finally committed suicide.

INSPIRATION & CONCEPT

The name of the play stems from the fact that 4:48 am is considered the time when people are most likely to commit suicide due to their extreme state of physical insanity.

The play's poetic style of language reveals the thoughts of a troubled soul; the verses are filled with heartfelt sorrow and anger. The play has no traditional theatrical plot, and the script is not marked with characters or lines, and so the play reads more like a modern poem without a metre.

Hospital Ward

The player wakes up in a cramped ward, with a weak physical and mental state.

The player needs to unlock the door and escape from the ward by using the objects and environment inside the ward.

Treatment room

If the player chooses to receive a treatment, they will enter the treatment area.

The player will interact with the doctor and exchange ideas concerning different treatments.

Doctor's Office

The player will have a conversation with the doctor to find out their condition and treatment plan.

The player will need to make a choice whether to accept the treatment and remain in the hospital, or opt out of the treatment.

Suicide area

If the player chooses to abandon the treatment, they will enter the suicide zone.

The player will need to progress through the game by solving puzzles and completing tasks, while trying to get away from suicide by different means.

A face with graffiti

The picture in grey and white, the disorderly black and white scribbles, the traces of paint and the exposed eyes, express the inner fears of the author, the darkness, and the breakdown.

A simplified flat of scene based on a house

The hollow sections represent a window and a door, expressing the conpet of interior. It is also a reflection of the author's inner world.

A Swing

No matter how high the swing is, it will eventually return to peace, reflecting the author's effort to seek peace, while leaving for another world in the end.

White balls

The white balls can be seen as drugs, as well as the author's mental turmoil. The author is surrounded by many of them on a daily basis.

INSPIRATION

Being 'different' from others sometimes needs a lot of courage, and often times, we just compromise.

We give up, and we hide our true selves. The film interprets many of us. Some people at last accept it… but I personally do not want to.

A tedious monotony of an ordinary person’s daily life gets interrupted by a yellow shirt. Witness the actions of this ordinary person under the pressure and influence of the society around him.

This is an arthouse short film about the interrelation between an individual and the whole society. Video

Based on discussions with the director, I used 3dmax to create a rendering of the set and the main props.

LIGHT AND SHADOW -- Screenplay

Logline Synopsis

This story is about a woman photographer in despair trying to regain respect and reputation under the condition of falling eyesight.

“A commercial photographer, Helen, survived a car accident which caused damage to her eyesight. Her boss did not trust her ability anymore and her colleague took her place. She felt desperate and wanted to poison herself with alcohol. While taking a shower, she saw a unique view where the light and shadow entangled with each other; Suddenly she gained a new perspective to observe the real world and decided to live out her way.”

Theme

In this world, everyone is pursuing perfection . You are required by external environments to show your perfection with beautiful appearance and work ability. When an unfortunate accident happens to you, everything around you seems to keep you in a desperate situation. But you are the only one who can help yourself out of this loop. Be brave and be real, without caring about what others might think of you in the wrong way.

Farside -- Film

I was curious about what would happen if there were two parallel space-times in human’s mind, therefore I tried to combine the space of the film with the theme of dual personality. The heroine in white lives in a house, representing a normal personality, while the other one in black appears in a nightmare, regarded as a depressed and crazy personality. In the beginning of the film, the two personalities are separated. As the story gradually reaches its climax, the two figures appear alternately in the room of the protagonist’s child. There, she finds some evidence against his husband and decides to kill him. This space was shown as not only a physical existence but also an extension of a psychological void, where the broken subconscious lives.
