Armando was born in Venezuela in 1936, he moved to Paris, France with his family in 1968. Armando travels frequently to Venezuela where he has made a name for himself as a world class muralist and a beloved artist in galleries and museums. Armando’s symbolism tendencies has brought him notoriety in the art world as an expert in his field. Armando has lived and worked in Paris, France since 1968, expressing his Venezuelan identity through his paintings. The artist brings together abstraction and figuration as a dialog between the conscious and the unconscious – allowing him to defeat the melancholy of emptiness. Armando’s space conception is defined as a metaphysic space, where he successfully captures a moment of time from a world of dreams. This Venezuelan artist has a passion for the pictorial production of silhouettes, masks, and landscapes – creating a pattern of behavior in his work. From fertility to seed, and from nature the silhouettes represented in Armando’s paintings capture an image of a woman, a woman who is universal but yearning to be the image of her ancestors and longing for her homeland. This yearning is very familiar to Armando – a painter in Paris who longs to connect with the Venezuelan people.
