Traditional Owners Engagement –Senior Liaison Officer (Designated Aboriginal Position)

Be part of Victoria’s once-in-a generation energy transition! As the State’s ageing coal-fired power stations retire in the coming decades, they are being replaced with renewables. Our electricity system must also change to carry energy from where it is generated to where it is needed. Shifting to renewable energy will deliver affordable, reliable and secure electricity. It will also help us deal with climate change by reducing our emissions. To achieve these goals, VicGrid is coordinating the overarching planning and development of the following renewable energy zones (REZ) in Victoria. As part of this, VicGrid is building a new Project Delivery branch to support the development and delivery of transmission infrastructure projects (or non-network alternatives) within the REZs.
The Traditional Owners Engagement – Senior Liaison Officer, Project Delivery is responsible for developing and implementing a best practice strategy and framework to engage with Traditional Owner groups on transmission projects in the development and delivery phase. The position works across DEECA to establish a partnership approach to engagement with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians, consistent with the objectives for community and stakeholder engagement in the Preliminary Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF). The Traditional Owners Engagement – Senior Liaison Officer, Project Delivery is responsible for working with relevant teams within DEECA to building meaningful relationships with Traditional Owner groups throughout the transmission project development lifecycle.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
• Relevant tertiary qualifications. • Experience engaging with Traditional Owners and/or
First Peoples communities. • Knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal cultures and societies and demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with
Aboriginal people to advance their interests.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.

They undertake investigations and develop plans to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people and to promote the achievement of case plan objectives within specified timeframes. This may include taking matters to court. Mandatory qualifications or requirements for this opportunity include: A recognised Social Work degree or a similar welfare or behavioural related degree which includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma; and preferably a practical component such as counselling or case work practice or A recognised Diploma of Community Services Work, or similar qualification which is studied over a minimum of two academic years of full-time study (or part time equivalent) and includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma; and preferably a practical component such as counselling or case work practice and A valid driver’s licence.
