LW URNS

Vinatge handmade pots of clay. Everyone is unique, and the dimensions are approximate. This model is also suitable to use as a vase for larger flowers. Please note that the urns are handmade and also glazed by hand. This means that they are not 100% waterproof, and we therefore recommend that the bottom is lined with a small bin or glass vase.

JACKFRUIT TREE CUTTINGBOARDS AND DISHES Inspired by the beautiful old boards of Sumatra and Tibor, originally used for clearing cotton, we have made these cutting boards and wooden dishes out of jackfruit tree. The cotton seeds were collected in the carvings along the edges. Such beautiful details! The heat and fire of the kitchen have naturally given the vintage boards a dark brown colour. In order to give the LW cutting boards a vintage look, without the use of chemicals, we have charred our jackfruit tree kitchen utensils.

LW Adorable Friends In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks - John Muir

Photo art has been at the core of the LW heart from start. We love the way photography communicates, across all borders, as the most beautiful language. We first met Adele the elephant in Bali five years ago. She was our star in one of the first LW photo series and we have since longed to meet her again. This new photo series is the result of Love Warriors recent visit to Indonesia where we met some amazing four-legged friends, new as well as old.

Adele ”We saw sadness in her eyes but hope in her fate. Adele the elephant has been part of our tribe for many years. Broken down to kindness, her life lies in the hands of humans. Through her eyes her sisters call for a brighter future.” Humans have not always been kind to her. Adele were earlier one of many elephants brutally used in the Asian tourist industry. Captured as an adolescent, she was put at hard work carrying tourists around. Her luck turned, however, when she was rescued by a non-profit association and moved to a rescue centre. Sadly, she’ll remain there for the rest of her life since she’s too old to return to life in freedom. Fortunately, if there is somewhere an elephant can retire with dignity, this is the right place.

Fajar ”Born free, chased by fire. Her story speaks to the warrior heart and we speak of her. Don’t let the human hand feed you, stay safe, stay free and hide in the deepest forest.” Baby orangutan Fajar is a true champion and with her life story she went straight into our warrior hearts. During a ferocious fire in Sumatra, Fajar and her siblings were saved by employees of the Indonesian government and brought to a rescue centre. After rehabilitation, she will be brought back and continue life as a wild orangutan. The warrior painting in Fajar’s face has been added through image editing since her human contact is restricted. Naturally curious orangutans otherwise easily become used to humans, who sadly are their greatest enemy. Smugglers kill the females and then use their little ones as pets. Forest fires are common and break out when people burn the woodland in order to give way for palm-tree plantations. This is the reason Love Warriors use beeswax instead of palm oil in our candles.
