About this Exhibit Many years ago, I was burdened to have artwork in my home that contained scripture references. Most of what was offered in Christian bookstores was out of my price range. Having photographed many images that I would love on my own walls, I taught myself to cut mats and frame my work. When my son moved out, his bedroom became the matting studio. I enjoy selecting the best mat colors to complement each piece, enhancing the colors in the photograph. It blesses me to bless others with beautiful, affordable, God centered artwork for their homes and gift giving. Renee Yelton | Photographer York County, PA aryelton1@verizon.net

Meet Renee Photography has interested me since I was a small girl. The availability and affordability of digital media allowed my interest to blossom. My husband and I love to travel in areas that offer outdoor sporting opportunities. We have traveled to Alaska, the wilderness areas of Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and Canada.

Meet Renee Many of my scenes are from the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I attended a Christian school in the 70’s and was always interested in the sciences. At that time, very little Biblically-based scientific research was available. Being spurred by the research reported by AiG, ICR, and others, I jumped at the chance to see the Grand Canyon with a scripturally-minded tour offered by Canyon Ministries. I can’t fully describe how deeply I was impacted by the experience we shared in the Canyon. Learning the Biblical interpretation of scientific evidences that towered over me was a lifechanging adventure. I have since returned to participate in 3 additional whitewater rafting trips through the Grand Canyon with Canyon Ministries. Since returning to the rim (the world above the canyon floor), I have used my photos and memories to share God’s handiwork. During these trips, the Lord gave me a burden to pray for those men and women who are on the front lines of the “Authority of Scripture” debate – Creation scientists, speakers, and pastors who uphold the Word, and leaders such as Tom Vail who proclaim His truth in the Canyon. I currently send a choice of one of the 16 X 20 matted photos to anyone who donates $250 to encourage donations to the ministry. They sponsor trips each year for Christian Leaders. About Canyon Ministries Each year we sponsor a trip aimed at influencing the influencer, which we call the “Christian Leader’s Trip.” In cooperation with Answers in Genesis and The Master Seminary, scholarships are provided for 24 Christian leaders, theologians, and professors from seminars and Bible colleges from around the world. Many of these professors have either not taken a position on the interpretation of the first eleven chapters of Genesis or have adopted an “old earth” view. The trip will be accompanied by some of the top authorities on the historicity of Genesis, the scriptural and geologic evidence for a global flood, geology and the Grand Canyon. It is our prayer that we will provide an environment of teaching and open discussion that will result in strengthening their faith in the literal truth of Genesis. We invite you to be part of our ministry through our non-profit aim to provide scholarships for youth groups, pastors, professors and Christian leaders. These trips allow them to experience the wonders of the Grand Canyon first-hand and to personally see the geologic evidence which supports and upholds the Word of God. As a non-profit organization, we accept corporate and personal funds. Scholarships may pay for the full trip, or just a percentage of it, and will be dependent on the individual’s need as well as available funds as determined by the Canyon Ministries’ Board of Directors. Scholarships may include an accompanying spouse or family member but do not normally include travel expenses. More information is available at Canyonministries.com

Tr a n s f o r m i ng A r t s Each of us is created in the image of God, the Master Creator and Artist. Therefore, we too, have the ability to create beauty that brings Glory to Him and redeems the brokenness of our world. That is the real purpose of art. Often, our “inner critic” speaks loudly in our mind. We ignore the creative longing buried deep in our heart—the desire to paint, write, sculpt, draw, whatever creative interest He’s given us. When we ignore this longing, we rob ourselves of an opportunity to develop a God-given facet that’s vital to who we are. Art is an expression of the human heart. Creating can be a form of heartfelt prayer and worship, a time where you encounter the Creator Himself and transformation occurs in the heart of the artist. Not only does God speak to our hearts through our own creative endeavors, He uses what we create to speak to others who encounter and interact with it. It’s amazing, beautiful, and mysterious.
