Dr. Allison Bayer, Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Diabetes Research Institute and Tom Karlya, Senior Vice President of the DRIF, received a gift for Dollars Against Diabetes (DAD’ s DAY) of over $70,000 from Juan Gonzalez, International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Vice-President and President/Business Manager of IUEC Local 2. DAD’s Day is part of North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) Blueprint for Cure Campaign which takes place annually in over 50 cities.

Hamptons Garden Gala

The third annual Hamptons Garden Gala taking place on August 12th at the home of Patricia and Roger Silverstein in Water Mill, New York will be an unforgettable night full of fun, inspiration, and progress toward a cure for diabetes. This unique event perfectly blends the finest aspects of a beautiful gala with the intimacy of a convivial dinner party. The evening will feature a lively cocktail reception; a delicious, seated dinner; unique silent and live auctions; exciting entertainment; dancing under the stars; and more.

Blue Dream Gala

On August 26th, the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons, NY will host its 12th annual Blue Dream Summer Gala. Each year, the host committee selects deserving charities to honor and benefit at the event. This year, the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation will be one of their honorees. We extend our special thanks to Blue Dream Co-Chairs and DRIF leaders Denise Goldberg and Amanda Shemesh Goldberg.

The Donaldson Organization Golf Outing

Join the DRIF for our annual event- Walk, Run, or Ride. No matter where you are, you can be part of this event. Whether it’s swimming, walking, running, or biking, this event was created for you to do whatever you like wherever you are while supporting DRIF’s mission to find a cure. Join our event and start a team today! You can invite your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to join your team and help you reach your goal. Last year, the event raised over $100,000, had individuals participating in three countries and brought together over 200 people in person.

Join us on October 2nd for the 13th annual Donaldson Organization Golf Outing for an exceptional day full of friendly competition and excitement. Players will challenge themselves on the prestigious courses of Winged Foot Golf Club. Winged Foot is ranked as one of the top courses in the world. The day will conclude with a delicious buffet-style dinner and program.
