RESEACH RATIONALE LAUL601
LYDIA JONES
REFLECTION, MOVING FORWARD My project last year, although it was un successful explored some promising themes. I began my project with the idea of exploring the appropriation of art and fashion, I found an understanding to the history of the collision but I don’t think my practice really reached past the first stages. I’ve began rereseaching and I already feel refreshed with Ideas, I feel confident in my chosen theme of fashion and art. I’ve chosen to relate it to the 21st Century in an attempt to really understand the social and cultural implication of the collision of the two.
STATEMENT OF INTENT To explore the movements between fashion and art, where the two coexist to mutually support and expand the industries. I aim to discover the mostly dynamic moments that has evoked the most creativity. When fashion is presented in the space of art it becomes something of the luxury, I am going to make ties to the creative worlds and their influences. Following an investigation into the pressing moments that have shaped the 21 st Century. I’d like to also discuss the role of luxury brands and designers in shaping their names and the implications on society.
