WELCOME TO THE LYMPHOMA RESEARCH FOUNDATION’S

Annual Gala Ziegfeld Ballroom

SEPTEMBER 28, 2023

Dear Friends,

It is with distinct pleasure that we welcome you to the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s (LRF) 2023 Annual Gala. Tonight is a special celebration, as we gather to celebrate our most deserving honorees and recognize their work to support the Foundation and the greater lymphoma community.

This evening we are delighted to recognize two innovators in lymphoma research and dedicated patient advocates. LRF will present Kara M. Kelly, MD with our Distinguished Leadership Award in recognition of her work as a trailblazing lymphoma researcher, dedicated pediatric oncologist, and global expert in the field of adolescent and young adult (AYA) blood cancers. Dr. Kelly is also a member of LRF’s prestigious Scientific Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the Foundation’s international AYA Lymphomas Consortium. Genmab will be presented with the LRF Corporate Leadership Award for the company’s pioneering work in antibody therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and supporting the Foundation’s research initiatives and educational programs for people with lymphoma/CLL and their care partners.

This year, we gather to share the many stories of hope made possible by the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Your support to the Annual Gala allows LRF to make greater investments in scientific breakthroughs and improved patient care. The legacy and lasting impact of this evening’s event will touch patients, caregivers, physicians, and the entire cancer community in ways beyond measure. It is with deep gratitude that we thank you for the hope you make possible for those with lymphoma.

With gratitude,

DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD RECIPIENT

Dr. Kelly is the Waldemar J. Kaminski Endowed Chair of Pediatrics at Roswell Park Comprehensive Center as well as Chief and Professor of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She also directs the Roswell Park Oishei Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Program, a collaboration integrating inpatient and outpatient services for children and adolescents with cancer or blood disorders.

Specializing in care for children with hematological malignancies over a three-decade career at National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers, Dr. Kelly has designed and led numerous nationwide research studies that resulted in practice-changing insights and new, higher standards of care for children and young adults with high-risk Hodgkin lymphoma. She holds an MD from the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School,

and completed both residency and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Kelly is a clinical researcher who is dedicated to bringing accomplished experts together to advance outcomes and quality of life for adolescents and young adult patients with Hodgkin lymphoma through clinical trials of novel targeted or immunotherapeutic approaches. She joined the Lymphoma Research Foundation as a Scientific Advisory Board member in 2015 and has served as founding Co-Chair of LRF’s Adolescent and Young Adult Consortium since 2021. She contributes to the development of treatment standards as Chair of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Pediatric Hodgkin Lymphoma Guidelines Panel, and is a past Chair (2011-2022) of the National Cancer Institute-supported Children’s Oncology Group’s Hodgkin Lymphoma Committee.
