To begin thinking about concepts for my logo I opened Adobe Illustrator then played around with the settings and functions with my name and initails. In a seminar during term we brought in objects which we thought represented us; and this idea inspired my logo. My red shoes are a perfect representation of myself; they are my favourite pair and come with me wherever I go. They carry me through my day and see all the things I see during my travels. I decided to watch a tutorial to learn how to draw on Adobe Illustrator. I took a photograph of my shoes then traced over them using the pencil tool (1.). I really loved the fun, sketchy aesthetic of the traced photograph and searched for a suitable font to match this. I found ‘DK sleepy time’ (2.) and thought it complemented my illustration perfectly so I downloaded it. I then decided as my shoes were red it made them even more individual and special, and so I experimented with filling them in with colour (3.). After many more creations I decided on a final design (4.). I was confident in using DK sleepy time as a font but wasn’t sure how to include my name in the logo. I finally decided on using a forward slash and a hyphen to help represent my name as it is quite distinguishable and also helps to portray my double barrelled second name.
