QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER OCTOBER Issue: 02/23 THE WELL-BEING SERIES The well-being series continues to grow from strength to strength, with such great contributors playing a part. These include people from the local community sharing their community interest projects. Such as Libanus Lifestyle in Blackwood, who open their doors to people to join to have a home cooked roast dinner made with home grown veg from the garden at Libanus Lifestyle. They get to chat over tea and biscuits while their dinner is being cooked for them.

MEET THE TEAPOT LADIES

At Libanus Lifestyle, we spoke with the service users about how they benefit from the service being offered. Norman had recently lost his wife and he found that he was stuck in the house and developed depression. He started to attend Libanus, and his life is beginning to turn around. We spoke to the lovely Jim, who is in his eighties, and loves to play the piano and share his tunes with the others. A local councillor called in Mr Dix and who told us how invaluable the service was to the community, and how people can become isolated, and it was such an important service and gave his full support to it.

Four wonderful ladies named, Diana Parsons, Joan Warbuton, Angela Harney and Rhian Mills. Write, narrate and record their Tales Around the Teapot series, every week without fail for the in-hospital patients to help keep their spirits up. Their stories are funny, serious and touching, and really brighten up anyone’s day. Some of their antics can make you laugh out loud. They have recently been on tour with a show to a group of ‘Listeners and Writers’ at Butter’s Bar, in Gilfach, Bargoed, where they put on a right show and had the audience in laughter. These stories are available for you to listen to, where you can follow YY FM on many social media platforms for the latest stories.
