Carers week - 16th June 2011 Huge thanks to everyone who made Carers Week a special event in particular thanks to all the carers volunteers and huggers who made everything happen so smoothly and to our VIP guests. Most of all though thanks to you for coming along and for your continued support!
Yellow Card Referal Scheme Carers Leeds Yellow Card scheme enables carers living in Leeds to register with their GP practice as a carer by filling in a Yellow Card (available at GP practices). Once GP practices are aware a patient is a carer they can offer them additional support/advice relevant to their needs and many practices provide carers with regular health checks and free flu jabs. Carers can complete the back of the yellow card to choose to receive a free carers newsletter and/or confidential advice or information from a Carers Leeds support worker either by phone or by appointment at our city centre offices. For further information advice and support please can contact Carers Leeds direct by phoning 0113 2468338, emailing info@carersleeds.org.uk or dropping in to our offices at 6-8 The Headrow Tues-Thurs 10am - 3.30pm Fri 10am-1.30pm.

Tuesday 27 September will mark the Trust’s second ever Annual Members’ Day devoted to you, our members.
Be a Voice of Change
This year we have stacks of fun in store for you all. We will be joined by Ruby Wax who will share some of her personal experiences of mental ill-health. We will be holding a ‘tea and talk’ party which will explore the new strand of the Time to Change campaign, ‘it’s time to talk’. The workshops will explore creating happy feelings through relaxation techniques, movement, creativity and online communications.
Have you or someone you care for had an hospital admission to Becklin centre or Newsam centre in the last year?
