SITE TECTONICS // ASSIGNMENT 3 // EYE HEIGHT PERSPECTIVE RENDER
Renders on 3ds Max
6:00am
This render shows the site as it sees its first bit of sunshine for the day, while the couple living here are heading off for their morning stroll. The sunshine comes through the trees leaving dappled bits of light over the path, the grass and the house. As the house is facing the sun, the porch and inside becomes illuminated from early in the morning. The sourrounding native trees give a sense that it is immersed within a forest yet the house sits above all and foats, with plenty of space underneath as extra shelter and to protect it from being flooded. The lower path also allows for movement underneath and has a floating effect. It creates terraces as it goes down the slope, giving people space to sit or watch the river and the wildlife. The upper path looks like a cliff face behind the house and blends into the steeper slope.
25
SITE TECTONICS // ASSIGNMENT 3 // EYE HEIGHT PERSPECTIVE RENDER
7:00am From this view, the upper path blends into the slope. Despite the upper path’s large volume, it manages to appear subtle within this landscape. People get a clear view of the river from all parts of the path. The house appears to be floating as the ground it is on cannot be seen. It is higher than the path meaning that views of this iconic house has not been obstructed by the long and winding path in front of it.
26
SITE TECTONICS // ASSIGNMENT 3 // SUN SHADOW STUDY
9:00 am
3:00 pm
12:00 pm
6:00 pm
Renders on the 3ds At 6:00pm, when sky Max is looking its most beautiful around sunset, the house recieves very little light and is not able to witness the sunset. It is also overcast by shadow. This is very unappealing and this sun study shows that ideally, something would need to be done about this to make the maximum use of the sun.
