Green halt

Experimenting small-scale architecture as a connector and shelter with a tree-like structure overlooking Lyon’s heritage.
The connection between the upper and lower riverside is sanctuarized with a circular and sculptural staircase. It offers platforms to enjoy an unsuspected panorama. The tree’s cocoons also enable pedestrians to have an insulated and protective space along the stroll.

L a n d s c a p e ta l e Tale of wood and stone. A remote shelter for musicians to converse with the landscape around them, through form and materials.
The relationship between a project and its surroundings are most important in rural areas. Habitat and landscape harmony need to be preserved. This combination is based on the transformation of local resources and features, here the wood and the pronounced slope.

Wooden housing Taking Lyon’s most atypical architecture merged with novel ways of sharing space and efficiency-focused building technics.

This housing program is set high up on Lyon’s iconic hill, CroixRousse. It is thought to facilitate different ways of living with one another. This includes public green areas, gardening devices and shared utility rooms. Building exclusively with wood and straw insulation is a testimony to how we can adapt to the ongoing environmental crisis that influences our habits deeply. Repurposing historical buildings to rearrange functional systems inside a campus by tackling the food supply problematic.

Urban mechanisms can be defined as organic breathing reciprocities. Each building either nourishes the multiple flows or feeds from them (unilateral blue animation). By conceptually rearranging this relationship with functionality, we can shape new patterns, while addressing sustainability. (bilateral orange animation) The renewed building takes on the campus’ missing infrastructures such as catering service and shopping opportunities. The service offered is focused on sustainability and waste revalorization, through a closed-loop system.

This installatio in an entry for lyon’s lights festival contest. It is located below the city’s antic theaters.
This project aims to recreate the stenoscopic effect of light : the shadows cast when light passes through layers of tree leaves. This effect is shown behind a door, as if those shades of light and dark were the gate to another world. The animation is made using addressable LEDs programmed on Arduino, and based on 3D Perlin noise generation.

Sensing interface for a custom 3D printing robotic arm. Retroactivity and real-time feedback for human-machine design process.
In-development interface to gather material and context data during the 3D printing process. Data interpretation will go through a feedback system for two purposes : - First, a real-time loop for the machine to adapt paths and fabrication settings to affect the resulting object. - Secondly, an interface for the designer to modify the tool’s behaviour as an aspect of the fabricated object. Effectively transforming adaptative prototyping tools into a hybrid designing process tool.

Transforming geometry into comprehensible data for robots is one of the challenges. For both small and big scale productions, simulating g-code through the HAL framework offers the possibility to incorporate sensing data at any time during the fabrication process. Effectively allowing to create with a new approach to material behaviour, blurring the line between simulation and production as well as the design stage.

Office works benefit from ergonomic improvements. Generative deisgns offer the customisation and fabrication means to answer this. Here, topology optimization forms a stand for valuable pens.
