Once again, we are back with Cairo Chapter’s Newsletter, this time we are more determined to keep it an ongoing quarterly or even a monthly habit that you might wanna keep your fingers crossed and hope it happens … What should you be expecting ?? Well, ideally, the newsletter contains material on the Chapter’s news , rides details, and any motorcycle related material that I, as the editor , find interesting... LOL But that’s not how we really want it to be , we want this to be an interactive, engaging bulletin that will get all Egypt’s H.O.G members on their feet, trying to add their own personal touch to this newsletter, making it not only fun to wait for , read & enjoy the great new look done by our creative Designer Mohamed Gomaa whom I am quite sure will continue to surprise us with his designs & artistic touch , but also a gateway to be involved in Cairo Chapter’s H.O.G world , and all the joy & excitement it brings to our lives … So, here is what I want from you, read the first newsletter, think of how we can improve it, what topics would you like to see in the coming one, what topics didn’t u like in this one, what stories & photographs do you want to share with your fellow riders…And let us all know about it.

A great sunny day , a perfect April weather and a pack of 15 or more bikes heading to Gouna for a three days vacation , and to top all of that; a beauty pageant show taking place in Gouna at the same time …!!

And before you get any high hopes, I gotta tell you…nope, we ain’t talking about the pageant here, in another forum maybe !! The pack grouped in “On The Run”, headed to Sokhna road and started their journey where 150 Km later, in Zafarana , they met the rest of the riders joining the trip, with a long, some 300 Km road stretch ahead, the engines roared and kicked off what turned out to be a 3 days of pure simple pleasure of enjoying the company of fellow bikers. In Gouna, nothing was left undone, well, except for winning the pageant…It was cairo chapter newsletter #6296
sun & fun all day long, hitting the beach, playing beach volley , cooling down in the warm, nice red sea waters, riding the bikes in Gouna streets, heading from one restaurant / pub to another, it was an all rounder trip with fun embedded right , left & centre…The fellas had a blast !! It’s been a long time since I last had that much fun with friends, Sherief Morsy , an avid Harley rider, said ”nothing is more convenient than making such trip on my bike with such great and amazing people, and the best thing is, the family sensation that I haven’t missed while I was with them, I am a H.O.G member, and it is like being with my family, although some of the riders were people I am travelling with for the first time “ . Well, summer time is around, surf’s up…Don’t miss the next H.O.G Red sea trip !!!!

Donate with a smile
At the H.O.G community, we do not do charity, we simply do what is right. March & April witnessed two major events where Cairo H.O.G proudly participated in, the first was the Blood donation event, sponsored & organized by the dealership and took place at the dealership premise in Zamalek, the second event was the Autism awareness ride sponsored by the Egyptian society for Autism & Vodafone. The blood donation event took place on a Friday Morning where all the riders enjoyed an incredibly well put together breakfast hosted by the Dealership, and felt great giving back to the society by donating blood to the Egyptian blood bank which was present with a team of Doctors, Nurses & personnel supervising and performing the blood donation activities, Hisham El Shawy, a 37th time blood donor was there and as excited as ever, said “it always feels great to feel you are able to give back and help other people by donating blood , what makes it even better this time , is doing it as a part of the H.O.G community in Egypt.

To Football Super Bowl, Super Ball, Super Wednesday, Super Game, Super outing, super night … No matter how you call it, for sure it will have the word super attached to it … The hype was never higher for a sporting event within the H.O.G community , the stakes were as high as ever after the challenge has been laid on the table, 2 teams, more than a 100 player & a single game, everyone wanted in, and do trust me when I tell you, it was one heck of a day !!! Everyone was there, teams arriving in shuttle buses, wearing uniforms, head coaches & assistants on the side lines giving instructions, players huddled up to discuss the game plan before the game, cheerleaders, spectators, the whole 9 yards...Anything & everything you can think of when the words ‘A major sporting event’ comes to your mind… A press conference held by one of the teams before game night & posted on Harley Davidson Egypt Face-book page, with Head Coach, Haitham Zeid, promising the other team with total annihilation & players saying that this game is probably the last thing they are doing before heading to brazil to win the World Cup ….. Does it really matter this team lost 5-2 ?!! Absolutely not, because this; was definitely a night to remember !! 08

Doing OUR
BEST
Raising the awareness of Autism. A psychic disorder that affects children as of the age of 3 years old with an occurrence rate of 1 every 68 child worldwide.
A parade ride was made through Cairo streets, with more than 30 bikes participating, riders wearing Blue T-shirts, riding through Zamalek, Corniche, Maadi, Ring road & all the way to Tagamoa where the ride & parade ended at Dusit Thani Hotel where the whole pack enjoyed breakfast and later on, a cake, to celebrate Samer El Ayat & Lidia Mahmoud engagement. The ride was filmed & photographed so the footage will be used later in the social media channels to help raise the awareness of Autism, Hatem Dowidar , Vodafone CEO & A Harley Enthusiast was there on his bike “we don’t do this for personal or corporate benefit , we simply do it because it is the right thing to do and we; as Vodafone & I, as a H.O.G member are willing to jump on any chance to help & give back”. 09
Samer & Lidia.. Congrats

EL BRINZZZZZZZZZZ heeeeeeeeeeh!!
Having a midnight dinner at El Brinzz in Imbaba ???. Nothing will ever beat the authenticity of that…Cairo H.O.Gs are always on the look for new exotic & authentic places to go to. A group of more than 20 bikes, roaring through the main street of Imbaba, bikers with spouses and families (there were Hoggers who made it by car) were saluted with Fireworks and spectators on both sides of the street taking mobile videos & pictures for the unbeatable scene of a 20+ Harley lining up to park in front of the infamous Kebdet El Brinzz (the Prince , for those of you who don’t know Arabic…LOL! , And do trust me when I say, there is nothing royal about the place…a simple down to earth restaurant , set up in the middle of Imbaba main street…but the food is just ,mmmm, heavenly if I may say so A Harley road king rider himself & not a stranger to the H.O.G community, Naser El Brinzz hosted the Egypt’s H.O.G members in an unforgettable night, having prepared & reserved two big tables that accommodated the H.O.G family and supervising the orders himself, the dinner was simply an astounding mix of a great authentic Egyptian food, in a 100% Egyptian branded surrounding…One thing I gotta tell you for sure, The H.O.Gs had a blast that night…! 11

Be Visible.
Make sure your headlight works and is on day and night. Keep a safe distance from other motorists and give yourself enough time to react to dangerous situations.
Wear bright coloured clothing whenever possible , over the ankle Foot protection, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, and full-fingered gloves
Use reflective strips or decals on your clothing and on your motorcycle. Flash your brake light when you are slowing down and before stopping.
