Proclamation Whereas
March is Youth Arts Month in the town and Village of Harrison; and
Whereas
Youth Arts Month, which is sponsored and coordinated by the Harrison Council for the Arts, gives our talented school children, from kindergarten through high school, the opportunity to display their works of art and gives their parents, grandparents, families and visitors to the Municipal Building and Library the privilege of viewing and appreciating this year’s presentation; and
Whereas
The dedication and commitment of the art and music teachers of the school community have helped to develop the artistic and musical abilities of our young people and the Council for the Arts has provided the forum to showcase their talents and their accomplishments; and
Whereas
The officials of Harrison thank the Harrison Council for the Arts for organizing this annual event, the art and music teachers and their talented students for their participation and say to them all that their efforts are greatly appreciated.
Now Therefore,
I, Ron Belmont, Supervisor and Mayor of the Town and Village of
Harrison, do proclaim March 2017 to be Youth Arts Month in the Town and Village of Harrison. All residents, family and friends of the artists are invited to a reception in their honor today, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at one o’clock in the afternoon in the Municipal Building for the official opening of the exhibition. The exhibit will be up for the remainder of the month for your continued enjoyment.
